Exam Factories

State, independent and faith schools have become exam factories and are only interested in A to C Grades. They do not educate children. The result is that anti-social behaviour, gun and knife culture, racism, drug addiction. binge drinking, high rate of teenage pregnancies and abortions, high divorce rate are common in society. Exam results do not reflect a candidate’s innate ability. Employers have moaned for years that too many employees cannot read or write properly. According to a survey, school-leavers and even graduates lack basic literacy and numeracy skills. More and more companies are having to provide remedial training to new staff, who can’t write clear instructions, do simple maths, or solve problems. Both graduates and school-leavers were also criticised for their sloppy time-keeping, ignorance of basic customer service and lack of self-discipline.

There are hundreds of state primary and secondary schools where Muslim pupils are in majority. In my opinion all such schools may be opted out to become Muslim Academies. This mean the Muslim children will get a decent education. Muslim schools turned out balanced citizens, more tolerant of others and less likely to succumb to criminality or extremism. Muslim schools give young people confidence in who they are and an understanding of Islam’s teaching of tolerance and respect which prepares them for a positive and fulfilling role in society. Muslim schools are attractive to Muslim parents because they have better discipline and teaching Islamic values. Children like discipline, structure and boundaries. Bilingual Muslim children need Bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods, who understand their needs and demands.

This subject has been covered many times on this
forum. Muslims in this country (the same as every
other citizen) have a wide variety of choices in
the education of their children. If they aren't
satisfied with the education provided at state
schools they're more than welcome to send their
children to private (Muslim) schools that will give them
the desired education for their children. Our state
schools are for everybody and will not be turned over
to particular religious group. And they should not be.
If you want a specialised education for your children -
send them to a specialised school. The choice is yours.
But you certainly are not entitled to inflict your
religion onto others or to try to turn our state schools
into your particular religious schools. Australia has
secular government and no official or state religion.
We therefore cannot turn our state schools in any sort
of religious academies. Our Governments must treat
all citizens as equal regardless of religion.
Religious laws have no legal status in Australia. And,
that is something that you already know. (or should know).

While every one is free to make up their own mind this bloke is a fraud.
He try,s very hard to get insults made to his faith so he can then publish it.
His end is not better education but more spent on his Islamic schools.
I think if we fully understood this posters thoughts he would be a very big negative to the faith and people he claims to represent.
Let us not feed the built in need SOME Muslims have to feel threatened
.

The Muslim community has been passing through a phase of fourth Crusades. The battleground is the field of education, where the young generation will be educated properly with the Holly Quran in one hand and Sciences in other hand to serve the British society and the world at large. A true Muslim is a citizen of the world, which has become a small global village. We are going to prepare our youth to achieve that objective in the long run. A true Muslim believes in Prophet Moses and the Prophet Jesus and without them one cannot be a Muslim. My suggestion is that in all state, independent and Christian based school special attention should be given to the teaching of Comparative Religion and Islam should be taught by qualified Muslim Teachers to make the children aware the closeness of Islam to Christianity and Judaism which will help them to think about Islam, as “A Pragmatic and Modern Way of Life.

British schooling and the British society is the home of institutional racism. The result is that Muslim children are unable to develop self-confidence and self-esteem, therefore, majority of them leave schools with low grades. Racism is deeply rooted in British society. Every native child is born with a gene or virus of racism, therefore, no law could change the attitudes of racism towards those who are different. It is not only the common man, even member of the royal family is involved in racism. The father of a Pakistani office cadet who was called a "Paki" by Prince Harry has profoundly condemned his actions. He had felt proud when he met the Queen and the Prince of Wales at his son's passing out parade at Sandhurst in 2006 but now felt upset after learning about the Prince's comments. Queen Victoria invited an Imam from India to teach her Urdu language. He was highly respected by the Queen but other members of the royal family had no respect for him. He was forced to go back to India. His portrait is still in one of the royal places.

Who said that Iftikhar represents an extreme element?

It ain't so --almost everything that he writes here could be found in whiteness studies and orientalism and any of the other fashionable critiques pushed at our Unis. In fact if Iftikhar wrote an essay along these lines at most of unis he'd probably get a high distinction.

Dear SPQR,

I'm not sure what Iftihar represents however
I doubt very much whether he would get a
"High Distinction" at any university.
He appears to be arguing at an emotional level,
not a mature intelligent one. Sound reasoning
backed by facts will always gain points over
unreasonable generalisations. He does not
appear to know his topic. And therefore does not
give the impression of being a superior debater.
I suspect that most lecturers would tell him to
go back and try again.

Iftikhar,

There is no gene or 'virus' responsible for racism, or prejudice, or 'culture', or religious persuasion. These (as with so many other 'values') are learned - essentially by example (primarily from parents - particularly in the early 'formative' years of a child's life), and by further 'education' - in 'society', wider family and peer-group/social-group, school, workplace, religious institutions, internet and books, etc.
And, 'values' and beliefs are further moulded and developed (and may be turned upside-down) by life experience.
Every individual is unique (and is born with only innate intelligence, aptitudes, primal-instincts and the 'promise' of inherited physical and neurological attributes), but various forces/influences strive to aggregate individuals into 'collectives' - of clan, tribe, ethnic-group, culture, nation, or religious-group.
As we humans are a gregarious and social species, these various influences play upon the human need 'to belong' - with various beneficial as well as potentially detrimental resultants.
'We' all need to learn to think for ourselves to be able to identify and respond appropriately to the 'con' and to the 'truth'.

Prejudice and intolerance (irrespective of 'source') are the primary negative and destructive influences on human behaviour, and it is these which require careful and concerted attention - by the teaching of ethics, morals, virtue, understanding, compassion and life-philosophy and universal behavioural 'mores' - in the common interest of global human relations and respect.

Religion may play a constructive role in individual development, but can unfortunately also be divisive and destructive. Hence, religion should only play a supportive and accompanying role to that of foundational 'life-learning' structured to provide all with the means to become responsible members of the 'global village'.

Tolerance and respect, not 'labels' or divisiveness.

I am not going to constantly feed this Gent.
His stated wishes and wants are far from his true wishes.
We can if we wish fall for the Idea his faith is treated in education less than the rest.
Or more closely look at resent great financial loss, cash paid by us the Australian tax payer to education institutions just for Muslims, that was STOLEN/DIVERTED to other Muslim things unrelated to education.
Too in the desperate effort this man and SOME from with in his community have
*to feel hard done by even if they must make it up* remember not every Muslim would even talk to him leave out share his view.
What is left out of the education these folks want may be freedom to think and develop ones own paths.
I contend we look hard at just what SOME subsidized Muslim Schools are teaching.
