I think it's a global trend, praxidice. Pollies of all walks are being seen for the parasites that they are. They long ago stop working for the people and began a policy of self enrichment at the expense of anything and anyone.
It all seemed to go down hill once the average Joe became comfortable using the internet to get his daily news. Having been fed bullshite from that other parasitic group Joe thought were the gate keepers of truth for too long, the lame stream media. Joe now has a new avenue to learn just how much vile walks the corridors of government and media and he (Joe) ain't too happy! I smell a huge storm coming, one that will water the tree of liberty with the blood of parasites all over the world. The clouds are getting darker by the day! personally I could not care less how popular a PM is. Hitler was very popular. We simply want a competent honest Government. It will be interesting to see if their is as much hate pointed towards Abbott as Howard had directed to him. A few regular posters have already started before he even takes the reigns. Howard was never really popular but how much more competent than the last 2. boats, drownings, deficits, debt, incompetent. Who cares how popular the replacement is.

I don't believe there is much doubt that a major financial event is headed our way although exactly when is another question. I've long thought its inevitable and have taken what I consider reasonable steps to minimize potential personal consequences. The only immediately significant issue I can't get my head around is what happens to the snouts .... some kind of new age highway robbers perhaps ?? If thats the truth of it then you may well be right about the blood of parasites watering the tree of liberty. When its all said and done, they didn't disarm us for no reason. runner Unpopularity I could possibly live with, despicable actions like the deliberate torpedoing of One Nation for no other reason than to stifle freedom of speech is another thing entirely. 'Unpopularity I could possibly live with, despicable actions like the deliberate torpedoing of One Nation for no other reason than to stifle freedom of speech is another thing entirely. ' agreed with. It was a very low act by both Liberal and Labour in that instance. The only winner was the most corrupt of all (the Greens). Posted by runner, Thursday, 6 June 2013 11:07:53 PM

Raw Mustard, you have a delightful turn of phrase. I guess I agree with you as well... as John Emerich Edward Dalberg Acton, first Baron Acton (1834–1902); otherwise known as Lord Acton, wrote in a letter to Bishop Mandell Creighton in 1887:
"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men." Posted by ybgirp, Friday, 7 June 2013 8:05:52 AM

runner - The only winner was the most corrupt of all (the Greens).
Ahhhh yes, those clowns who have yet to acquire as much as a hint of what they represent (or at least thatn the name 'greens' suggests. If only the party had focussed primarily on the ecosystem as the name implies, I may have accorded it some degree of credibility. As it is, the party might as well change the name to homosexuals party or whatever because their people spend most of their time crapping on about stuff with absolutely no relevance whatever to 'green' anything. Years back I had some dealings with Drew Hutton, the bloke who chained himself to a tree in an attempt to stop the Woolworths construction at Maleny. Whilst he wasn't exactly the sharpest pencil in the pack, he did at least do something remotely 'green'. Present day greens can't be accused of losing the plot because they haven't even realized there is a plot. Before the queer fraternity climb on their soapbox, much of the reason I'll never support their objectives are the blatant distortions & obfuscations so typical of the ostensibly 'gay' movement (actually I've not met many gay = happy queers, but thats hardly unusual). For example, the utter crap about non-homosexuals being closet queers (read the relevant report before talking bull}, and 'most people support homosexual marriage'(don't bother quoting statistics, I know about Benjamin Disraeli). The Greens party is quite simply more of the same, pretending to be one thing but in reality being something completely different. They lost me completely when they decided to go down that track. Dear Prax,

If its any consolation, the red-headed witch wouldn't have got the highest ballot number if she'd run a candidate in my area, the RAbbotts bloke has that dubious distinction (never been an ALP candidate in recorded history ... its traditionally been a country party stronghold since the dawn of time). Given relatively recent demographic changes it could be anyones race but the fatguts oxygen bandit LNP moron vs VERY switched on Palmer girl means she has it in the bag. According to Nielsen’s John Stirton, both were unpopular in the 2010 election & they have become even more on the nose since then.
