Yes well, considering the mess our mate Garret made of the insulation, what did labor expect when they shoved him away into education.

It's almost as if labor leaders decided that education was not such an important role, otherwise he would have been punted altogether, don't you think.

Now as for education, or more so teaching standards, I can only assume that teaching has suffered like most other professions and trades, whereby the graduates levels of competency are slipping well below par.

We have electricians who can only replace faulty items with new ones, not fix old ones, butchers who can only confidently perform some of what they should be able to, and I can only assume the same problems are happening with professions.

Then of cause there is the back up from parents as one poster rightly points out.

School can only provide the basic, but parents have to drive it home and, given most parents now work, they are time poor, so something has to give, and in this case it apoears that it may be the kids education.
