I've long suspected that, psychologically, tension between the sexes boils down to jealousy:

A woman knows with absolute certainty she is the mother of her children – whilst a man can only hope and believe that he is the father of his.

"Like coffee and cream - combined - we're really something!" Arguably true… but with the addition of one more space, it would have been unarguably funny:

"combined - we're really some thing!"
