This is about were these unfortunates end up. regardless of how they get there, men or women. one does not have to be einstein to work out the causes. and wether the egg or the chicken came first is irrelevant. point is our streets are full of PEOPLE in decay and this problem is escalating. drive around your city any time and forget about oneself long enough to observe. wether its drugs (alcohol included), their effects or mental illness compounded by drugs the streets are littered with the consequences of these problems. we as a society need to act. not blame. the hospitals and jails and dosh houses cannot cope. people on the front line are emotionally frazzled with the inadequate services and merry go round that fails to adress these issues. the "experiments" of integrating mentally ill people into society has failed...it never got off the ground. these people need structure, support, routine, nutrition, socialisation, hygiene and constant care...

I think everybody has "mental illness". That is if you belief the medical professionals.
Lack of expressing your life-experiences to somebody (whether bad or good) creates an inner silence, which can build up into disease and /or trauma, hence we call it mental illness. It is believed that over 75% of diseases come from undisolved past trauma's. For those who like to help people in these situations I would suggest to look at this site: http://emotional-freedom-technique.tk I am not suggesting to those who live on the streets to log on to the nearest PC to learn how to apply this to themselves, but if anybody has access and is willing to help those unfortunates amongst us than this is the best and cheapest way. If anybody wants to learn this system I will have DVD's available from the course.I am legally allowed to copy the course 100 times. So send me an email with your request and your details to: i2look4noni at netscape dot net and I am happy to share my knowledge and time. Posted by eftfnc, Monday, 2 April 2007 2:44:40 PM
