Dear ponde,

Thank You for taking the time to respond
to my request for my second grandson's
Baptism. Unfortunately I can't use any of
the material that you've suggested. I
should have been more specific - I am
actually looking for Readings from The New
Testament. However, I appreciate the
kindness that you've shown to a newborn.

Dear RObert,

I have to admit that sometimes people do
tend to surprise me.

you sure comeup with some tricky questions
so much depends on what your planning as a result

A baptism is a very special time....that is to unite the spirit of the child with the spirit/ritual..of the elder's

in short to unite a family spiritually

in its purest sense..A baptism prayer
introduces..the child to God....
[as they need no introduction to god]

so the prayer must be..to bind all who hear
closer to gods perfection's of spirit..
as reflected by the mortal flesh..

as well as to the guests unseen
[the ancestoriasl spirits..of those some call ''the departed]..

for they too rejoice..in the public uniting
of the babe/child..with the good purity of god..[life/love grace mercy]

the baptism..also as well as honouring
our joint gifted creation..[of the one true [only]..god]
gives thanks to the good god..for his gift of life

and that [childs]..lifes gift's..[works]..
to the whole family unit..as well as their promise of gift to society in general..giving thanks and hopes...that they full and truelly realise the gifts so freely given of love

Alternatly..The purpose of a baptism prayer
is to celebrate new life and to set the baby
on a path of love and acceptance of the ways so clearly revealed by our beloved rabi/Christ...[or other family messenger of choice]

short prayers of thanksgiving
that refer to biblical stories..of water
short prayers of thanksgiving that refer to baptism one or more invocations of the Holy Spirit...although that is allready a given.

use..Short and Simple words.
Pray for the family comfort and unity..
that this belesed child has deliverd...to all present
[in the flesh as well as in spirit]

most of all affress the child
not the audiance

this is about giving the child his gift..not the church or the attendants[notr israel,or any other doctrinal destractions//

tell of the baptiser
how water is the sign of spirit unity

accepting into..its body good and dirt..at the same time

[in the one body]..remind the child that we are all like wells sucking our nurture from the one water source[god]

that all wells draw from the same underground waters
remind the child of the rainbow..and all its values
of how sunshines like rain...of the morning dew

that even their nappy water is holy
because its from gods vast generouse supply
may he never thirst for knowledge love or water
nor thirst for companionship..nor lack for joy..or a room in his fathers house[gods]

we have our spirit father
then our biol-logical father
but dont forget the trust of the god father

Heavenly Father,

In your love
you have called us to know you,

led us to trust you,
and bound our life within yours.

Surround this child with your love,
protect him from evil.

Fill his mind with that good and holy

we as he shall receive you into the family

that it may walk with us in the way of Christ,
and grow in the knowledge of our love....by our good fruits

You’re taking this step of faith..in love grace and merrcy
remembering its more blessed to give than recieve

In obedience to the egsamples of our Lord
be baptized in His precious name..And heed the Master’s call

To rise up with faith in God
And go where He may lead

share God’s love to everyone
And touch them in their need

May God pour out His blessings..Upon your life today
and allways..So you may walk in His abundance
As you commit to Him..in good and truth
as you find your way..onwards from this day

Keep on trusting in the Lord
No matter what you face

And keep your eyes on Jesus Christ
And live in His sweet grace.

By M.S.Lownde

I baptize you with water for repentance,of heart
but he who is coming after
is mightier than I,

be baptized..you
with the Holy Spirit and fire's passions and love.

Matthew 3:1

Dear Johan (OUG),

Thank You for the most moving words and ones
that are so appropriate. They are deeply appreciated.

I shall be collecting all the beautiful suggestions that
I receive in this thread and passing them
onto my son and daughter-in-law
and they can select the ones that they like for their son.
Again, Thank You.

It is a privilege to share cyberspace with you.

your kind words as allways lift up my heart
encouraging me to further expand

i began the previous posts..
with no idea what i was going to write

for ideas..i googled
visited what i thought best fitted..your question
and cut and pasted it..[i was atracted to the site because i saw important words..under its link]..ie the first words..[about introducing the good god to the child]

then i simply edited out al that spiel re zion/israel etc
ie ditched the creed..added in some other imagry
and there you go

so thats what i suggest your children do
edit out the creed stuff..that is gibberish

and stick with the best words..
that unite all at the blessing [spirit or flesh]..into a loving unity..

spirits LOVE attending these celibrations
we must recall the child's spirit..has only just come back from god

the child is as close as we can link with spirit
and spirit with us..[for them*..to hear the imagry of the words
helps retain their link to the fathers perfection in spirit]

dont forget that childs
recieve the imagry of the words too
if we think it they feel it..

[another thing im reminded of as important..
is the exchange of bacteria's..kissing the child..

[for future immunity to material infections..to kick start their immune response..while still having the added defense of their mothers milk antibodies]

the reason why breat feeding is important
we have to prevent the urge to give kids sterilised food
which only sets them up for trouble..by the first bug that visist's
[gets past the sterility insanity]

this celibration is the unity [union]..of spirit with the flesh
[its more a wedding cerimony..than we could appriciate]

so wed vows..might have the right bonding incantations too
im reminded of the importance of the spirit guide
who shall be with them all their lives

thank their most loyal soul mate
spirit guide..for their current and future services..to/for/with the child

also i note that batism..allows for the freation of a baptisamal and spirit name[thank god govt hasnt yet gotten to put its grubby laws over the rite[right],of baptism
