I think the thinkers have simply put population increase in the wastepaper basket because the unthinking don't give it a thought & they outnumber the thinkers by 10:1, eventually the show will collapse & that's all there's to it.
Population growth will go down the ALP lane, it'll self-destruct as soon as it can't sustain itself any longer.
