Looks as if there could be a lot more to Bob Irwin leaving the Queensland Party than previously stated. Mr Irwin is not a Katter fan according to Crikey. He left the queensland party because of his personal beliefs regarding wildlife clashing with those of the loudmouthed larrikin minister from the north. Bob Katter supports indigenous hunting such as the slaughter of dugongs and turtles as he has to take into account the not inconsiderable indigenous vote up in his electorate of Kennedy.
If the Queensland Party is able to find 500 members by friday and stay registered with the electoral commission then Bob has said he will consider returning the party and standing for Ashgrove in the upcoming march state election.

Meanwhile Bob Katter is having registration problems of his own. A last minute objection lodged by Queensland Party member Jason Sommerville has pointed out the improper illegal attempt to merge the parties without a constitutionally required member vote on the issue. He claims candidates were misled and tricked into changing parties and Aidan McLindon redirected the queensland party website to katters organisation. The electoral commission is now investigating.
