The economic collapse is happening at a rapid rate. Most citizens live in a economic situation they neither comprehend nor gain from. The reality is small business were damned as soon as housing speculators started bidding up asset values using unsustainable leverage, easy credit, and tax rorts like negative gearing ( see http://www.australianpropertyforum.com/topic/8489333 ) -- a way of life that become entrenched in culture until every idiot out there was certain asset price can't drop back to past levels when average wages could afford average homes.

The RBA had no choice but to raise interest rates to crush the housing bubble, and unfortunately small business also unfairly ears the brunt of those increases! Professor Steve Keen ( see http://australianpropertyforum.com/topic/8725183 ) has been predicting this for a long time, and he's dead right!

Many European countries have better financial models that operate more equitably for everyone, so business owners aren't punished because of housing speculators, but even still, those Euro countries must still bail out their banking systems!

The moral is no one gains from asset price inflation in the end, because bubbles always pop.

rehctub,

Well I sold mine and moved to a place with plenty of water and a place to grow veggies and fish farm few eggs. Not worth the worry and things are going to get much worse. My advise to you its time for a tree change.
