60 minutes. Are they politically bias?

Sunday night's 60 minutes run a story on multiculturalism which highlighted what many of us believe to be true in many cases.

However, one can't help but think this was politically motivated given the timing and the fact that Pauleen Hanson is again running for a seat in the upcoming NSW election.

Is this just a coincidence, or what!

They are playing on bigotry for ratings. It's called 'trolling'. It seems you took the bait. The vast majority of people I know love this country and the people in it. No matter their race, colour, or creed. I'm a kiwi and have made this country my home. I love it here, and I love the people. The vast majority of the population are just getting on with their lot and have ZERO issue with queuing, and living with people from other cultures.

I work with people from EVERY corner of the globe and yes, there's a young muslim fella that goes off to pray on occasion during the day. He's a good worker, first and foremost.

It confuses me how 'Australians' 'love' this country so much they want to protect it from the very thing that makes it what they love. If it wasn't for immigrants the traditional owners would still be the only occupiers.

StG, I have not taken any bait.

I have long held the view that so long as you allow certain faiths into our country, you also allow the 'rotten eggs' within that faith to enter and establish themselves.

Now I don't dislike Muslim people and in fact, the young lady who was on the show was a fine example of one who values and respects our way of life, while at the same time following her faith.

But the reality is that this is a race that like it or not, are the forerunners in world terrorism, and that's an indisputable fact.

Now if we could find a sure fire way to separate them at the front gate, that would be great, but we can't.

However, my point here is whether or not the timing of this is politically motivated.

rehctub, Islam is not a race "But the reality is that this is a race that like it or not, are the forerunners in world terrorism, and that's an indisputable fact."

I do think though that it should be possible to discuss multiculturalism as something other than an all or nothing proposition. It is possible to like a mix of cultures without liking every aspect of every culture. It is possible to want to find way's of reducing negative impacts without wanting to go to a monoculture.

I'd be very surprised if 60 minutes were running segments targetted to help Pauline Hanson. They probaqbly let some bias creep into their work, they would be an island in the media if they didn't but I very much doubt that Pauline is their bias.

R0bert, we are not the problem with regards to multiculturalism, it is rather those from other races who show blatant disregard for our laws and, as if that is not enough for them, they wish to change our way of life while they are at it.

That young lass is welcome at my place anytime, she is a true gem.

60 Minutes generally contains very poor journalism but this time they are on the mark. The UK has serious issues with Islam where Muslims publicly chant the death of British soldiers on Remembrance Day.

In Australia, we have our own issues where Muslims have been found to lie and bully their way on every matter. Disagree and you're some vile so called racist.

Islam, I see it as, is an oppressive ideology whose view of women and children and freedom is back in the stone age.
