This is not just the Middle East. Remember that this wave of revolutions started when Iceland fired their government and started throwing the bankers who wrecked their nation into jail. It then swept across Europe and is now in the Middle East, plus Wisconsin and Ohi in the states.
http://joshhealey.org/ Every nation that has been subverted by Israel (AIPAC here in the USA) is in rebellion, and Israel does not know how to stop it. http://www.businessinsider.com/israeli-fears-grow-more-acute-2011-2 We are seeing a tragic repeat of an endless cycle of covert conquest by the chosen followed by backlash and revolution that has been going on for thousands of years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lA016FzmYg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrYGV8jrhEY http://dailybail.com/home/bernanke-defends-lehman-actions-to-his-deathbed.html If democratic governments were to emerge in the Arab world, truly representing the aspirations of their peoples, we Westerners might have reason to fear that these governments would feel a certain resentment towards us. http://host.madison.com/ct/news/opinion/editorial/article_c8dc2189-1d6c-510b-9244-76d79987a088.html Not because we would come face to face with religious fanatics but rather with lucid people who might just resent the fact that we have imposed corrupt and violent dictators on them for many years. http://uruknet.com/?p=m74987&hd=&size=1&l=e If Westerners therefore want to build equitable and peaceful relationships with the Arab world, we should not expect its peoples to go on accepting the dictators we choose for them. http://original.antiwar.com/kevin-b-zeese/2011/02/17/hillarys-free-speech-hypocrisy/ We have to attack the root of the problem, here in the West, by asking : why must we impose dictatorships ...on the Third World to defend our interests ? http://dailybail.com/home/why-isnt-wall-street-in-jail-matt-taibbi-raises-holy-hell.html http://whatreallyhappened.com/ Posted by one under god, Saturday, 19 February 2011 7:52:49 AM

Bugsy, loved your comment! Lol :)
Oneundergod, you are so right. I agree that predominantly the USA should keep their noses out of other countries business. Democracy is sometimes not all it is cracked up to be. Corruption continues in any Government system. Even if a country decides to embrace democracy, who is to say that it is now all above board within the new system? Egyptian people seem to want democracy, but the group that looks like taking over that government are not not known for their views on democracy! Buggy... you watch Beck ? :) oh goody.
Suz.. you came close to a good post there u know. You could have lived dangerously and made a couple of predictions and named a few names Here's one "Jared Cohen" Would it be in anyone's interests to shut down the US naval base and install regimes of an anti american flavor in those countries? AGIR:
Mohammad established the Islamic religion some 1,500 years ago. From its inception there has been conflict and division between his early disciples resulting in a number of sects. From those very early beginnings conflict has arisen between two groups of followers of these disciples - the Sunnis and the Shites. Each one wanting to dominate the other. Only in countries with strong rulers be they kings or dictators this conflict managed to be under control. Now that some within the groups want democracy by deposing the monarchy and the dictators, old rivalries and hatred are arising with no strong power to control them. As in India, under the British, independence resulted in the partition of India into the Muslim/Pakistan/Bangladesh separating from the Hindu India. So too it appears unless the two Islamic groups are separated into their own autonomous nations conflict will continue to exist. Religious wars have existed from early history. In Britain, Catholics versus Protestants. In Spain, Catholics versus Muslims, and so on. As far as the US is concerned - all they're interested in is their naval base in the region, which was a result of the "cold war," and protecting their oil interests. 3 people have been killed.
LIFE IN BAHRAIN
-No income Tax
-Unemployment Benefits given
-No Company Tax
and.....they are whining screaming and raging in the streets? Why?
DEMOGRAPHICS.
It appears that the rulers are Sunni Muslim and most of the populace is... Shia.
STRATEGICS.
-Bahrain is home to the American 5th fleet.
-Bahrain is on one side of the Persian Gulf near the Straits of Hormuz.
YOUR GUESS.. yep.. let's discuss 'why' this is happening, and who might be stoking the fires? Who would benefit from the strife?
Does anyone think it could be as simple as "Shia Muslims don't want to be ruled by Sunni's" personally.. I don't.
