A little bit of nistory. The knowledge to predetermine the sex has been available since 1953. The Catholic church released the knowledge through Planned Parenthood and it is 100% accurate. The Male of the species determines the swx of the child.

SOL,

IVF has a 15% success mainly because most of the patients have fertility issues. For those without fertility issues the success rate is closer to 50%, and sex can be selected relatively easily. The price tag of $20 000 would tend to dissuade most.

China's Sex ratio
At birth: 1.11 male(s)/female (2007)
Under 15 years: 1.134 male(s)/female (2007)

Or 53.1% male children compared to 51.2% for Australia.

Where there is a very strong cultural bias in China for male children there might be concern, but for Australia the choice of sex is far less frequent and likely to go either way.

I see little chance of damage to society, and thus no reason for the state to get involved.
