If Emergency services staff and the Firies do not make the decisions to save human lives [victims] of both floods and bushfires, thousands more lives would not have been saved or be saved in future.

A few situations involved with previously over the years myself.

A woman, her children and 6 dogs on her property, along with horses, goats, chooks, geese, birds; a menagerie in summary were about to be engulfed.

She intended placing her childrens lives, neighbours' lives and bush fire brigade's lives at risk by wasting time arguing/refusing to leave her property without the dogs.

Shock, distress and emotions took hold of her senses understandably.

Physically, she was removed, as the fires had already engulfed many of her neighbours houses and sheds. With drought and limited water, the situation appeared the same for her dwellings.

Common sense, despite loving our animals, must prevail.

However, if it was one or two dogs that could be nursed on their owner's lap, not taking up space for children and adults, that should be allowed.
