Media reports have it that most of the Bali Nine have had the sentences upgraded to the Death Penalty - the one who did not appeal will remain with a sentence of life behind bars. I'm nor sure of the exact facts as Indonesia has made no formal statement as yet.

Now, (if this is true) I am just wondering if all this has to do with Howard and Downer's call for the death sentence in relation to certain Indonesians who they don't like very much and Indonesia has now made it's own statement with regards to certain Australians it doesn't particularly like.

I am sorry for those who are facing the prospect of death under such circumstances but I think the calling for any death penalty is fraught with danger. Perhaps our politicans should shut up and let other states carry out their own justice however much we might disagree.
