Well from personal experience and talking to other kids where child protection have been in our lives and we feel that child protection get too involved when they are not needed and not enough when they are.

So what do you think?

Do you think they do any good?

its the same story where there is genuine abuse or neglect they are no where to be seen in some instances until it way too late.

On the other hand there all over some mum at the shopping centre because she sternly disiplined her kid because it was chucking a three hour tantrum.

im sure that they arnt totally useless but they are a government dept afterall

yeh.

for an example: i know someone who reported someone to child protection because thay knew that he is sexually abuseing his 2 younger sisters and he has a history of it but they wont even investergate it.
the report was made over a mounth ago and he lives with these girls. they are 11 and 12.

the goverment need to do something about this, even the courts are getting fed up. in one case i know of (i know alot of cases involveing child protection) the judge told child protection off, returned the kids back to their dad (they where taken away for about 3 hrs max) and told them (DHS) never to lie in his court again and that it was such a silly thing to take the kids away from their dad over.

i know ex child protection workers who even say that the whole department is stuffed up and something needs to be done about it. but the gaverment wont get off their fat ass to do something...they never do about anything!
