Baffled is my first reaction cuphandel/crack up.
Are you aware of bad out comes on Fraser as a result of Dino assaults. In NSW along the mid north coast and just a bit south Dingo's kill domestic animals near camping areas, a place people feed them. I like Dingos, never shot one in my life, but here they are in all colors, some say it is not true but they are inbreeding and can come in black or with white. such a pup came to work with a mate for years, never barked it was Dingo. It killed more sheep than ten, its time with humans was its down fall Crack up in this case the woman has let her mothering instincts get in the way of common sense, she could be feeding a future child killer. Death through starvation is a normal cyclical event in nature. For example, thousands of wild ducks die every year after population increases from early rains or grazing on stubble in grain fields. That is why some can be harvested as game and losses during the inevitable dry are not as catastrophic. Queensland doesn't understand that, having given way to emotional keyboard greens and animal liberationists.
Dingoes were introduced to Fraser Island and the numbers were increased through feeding by the very people who now want to do the same again. Since the removal of the brumbies, another introduced feral pest that offended the same keyboard environmentalists, dingoes must put even more pressure on native animals on the island. Because there is abundant evidence that people have been taking domestic dogs to Fraser Island for decades I am surprised by the claim that the dingo blood line is 'pure'. I often doubt the 'facts' of researchers with a stake in the research they are doing. Wild animals never look Disney fat, even in the short good times and they certainly do not like being interfered with and patted, wildlife warrior style. More people should have watched British naturalist David Attenborough it seems. Posted by Cornflower, Friday, 26 March 2010 8:08:09 AM

To all those Dingo "haters" out there in
Greedalia: I hope that you are all feeling happy that the first recognised death from starvation of an 8 month old Dingo pup was reported yesterday on Fraser Island. I sincerely hope that one day you may suffer the same anguish and pain of starvation and receive the same sympathy that you have shown for these poor creatures! I have also noticed the deafening silence from the Animal Libbers and the RSPCA who obviously do not want to get involved with any issue that places them in confrontation with the State Government! These charges have been brought against her by the Queensland Department of Environment and Resource management.
Jennifer has been campaigning for considerable time for intervention into the deteriorating health situation of the subject dingoes, as they slowly but surely starve to death due in part to the inane laws that prevent manual feeding of the animals by members of the public, even though there is obviously insufficient natural wildlife to maintain the health of these sad and neglected animals.
This issue has been simmering ever since the authorities enacted these laws that were supposedly mandated to protect visitors to Fraser Island from attack by "marauding dingoes" ( which were seeking and getting food from visitors and residents ), and as usual the authorities in their very short-sighted wisdom figured that if people didn`t feed the animals they would return to feeding "au natural".
The only problem with their theory was that the natural feed stocks on the island have become depleted to the extent that the dingoes are now facing a slow and painful death by starvation. ( photographs showing their condition have been presented to the authorities, to no avail!)
The plight of the dingoes was challenged by the submission of a Petition by many concerned members of the public, however the Queensland Government in it`s usual bloody-mindedness discarded this appeal for reason as being unnecessary and the Petition was discarded, leaving concerned citizens and animal lovers with no other option than to allow these creatures to die of starvation or try to feed them until some sort of sanity could prevail!
This then is the resultant plight of Ms Parkhurst who is now facing massive fines for only doing what any normal animal lover would do to prevent unnecessary suffering and ultimate death by starvation.
The authorities need to either feed these dingoes daily, relocate them or cull them completely, after all Fraser Island is a unique National Park where humans obviously take precedent over the animals!
