It is fascinating what the human brain gets up to when I am otherwise distracted. Way over my head but without doubt a beautiful thing.
Merry Christmas and thank you, gives me a subject I never knew about. A great present. Thank you. Posted by TheMissus, Friday, 18 December 2009 9:32:07 PM

Quite extraordinary - I knew nothing about this either, not being a maths buff.
However, I'm interested in many different eras of architecture. I like to draw cathedrals and other interesting buildings from the past - not too keen on the modern stuff. I found this quite beautiful, especially the Baroque elements. Thanks for the gift - Hope you have a happy Christmas. Posted by Poirot, Friday, 18 December 2009 9:48:32 PM

Dear Steven,
What a surprise you are! Quality, was an obsession of my father. His belief in dressing up the mind and the body was one I wholeheartedly shared. I loved dressing up, even as a child and playing games of being wrapped up in baroque splendour. You've just given me the exquisite gift of allowing me to once again indulge all of my senses - if only briefly. Breath-taking - Thank You! Enjoy the Holidays - and A Toast to Good Health, Good Friends, and a Good Life in the coming New Year! Posted by Foxy, Friday, 18 December 2009 10:55:27 PM

Steven,
Thanks for posting those images, most interesting! Merry Christmas. Foxy, You have further confirmed my mental picture of you. A stylish, elegant lady with red hair and well mannered. Even in your oldest, house painting/gardening, clothes you would have style. I can just see you, when a little girl, dressed in your mums clothes, lipstick and far too large high heels. Probably went to ballet school as well. If your dad liked quality, he got it with you. You seem to find a kind word for everyone, but that doesn't mean you do not have strong opinions. Your presence on OLO is appreciated by all. Your thoughtfulness for others is shown by you addressing and beginning all your posts with, Dear XXXXX. We will disagree on matters, but look forward to reading your posts in future. Merry Christmas and good health. Posted by Banjo, Saturday, 19 December 2009 10:55:27 AM

Glad you all like it.
Everyone here has probably heard of the Hubble Space telescope. Less well known is the Spitzer Space Telescope. Get a load of these cool images. http://spitzer.caltech.edu/ You can read about the Spitzer mission here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spitzer_Space_Telescope Enjoy. Dear Steven,
Again you've given us some awesome images. Thank You. Makes me feel quite small in the scheme of things. Dear Banjo, What can I say - except - Thank You. And, right back at you with heartfelt warmth and affection. May the peace of Christmas Eve, the Joy of Christmas, and a hope-filled future, lead you and your family into the Coming New Year 2010! Dear Examinator, We've just received some dark rye bread from Latvia, and I thought of you as I unwrapped it. I'm not sure whether you and your family maintain any Latvian Traditions - especially concerning food and traditional recipes. However, the bread is delicious, though very heavy, but superb in small amounts with liver pate. I again want to wish you and all of our OLO colleagues - A Very Happy Festive Season, and a Safe, and Healthy, New Year filled with Many, Many Happy Days!
