An ABC News report today stated that Jennifer Parkhurst of the National Dingo Preservation and Recovery Program (Programme) has been banned from photographing dingoes on Fraser Island for, according to the Department of Environment and Resource Management,.."breaching her permit conditions" and "failing to have a research permit"!

It goes on to state that Ms Parkhurst says "she is not undertaking research"!....however she admits that has "submitted opinion pieces in environmental magazines!"

It would appear that Ms Parkhurst is being singled out for "special treatment" for voicing an opinion regarding the management of dingoes
on Fraser Island!

The questions that need answers are:

1) Why is Ms Parkhurst being penalised for speaking out?

2) Why does she require a permit to take photographs on Fraser Island?

3) Why is she being treated any different to anyone else who visits Fraser Island?

4) Why do the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service keep trying to hide the fact that the dingoes on the Island are starving to death due to lack of available natural food?

5) Since when has it been an offence to publicly voice an opinion about any issue that affects a National Park?

Maybe the Authorities could arrange to have Ms Parkhurst tied to the whipping post and administered 100 lashes for having the temerity to voice her opinion!

Still, Jennifer Parkhurst should write a thank you note to the Queensland Government once this is over. They will attract more attention to Jennifer and her cause than she has managed to on her own in the last 7 years.
