Charlton Heston used to get a good run in the ol' biblical sagas. I will keep my fingers crossed for you StG.
Happy Easter. Posted by pelican, Thursday, 9 April 2009 2:04:13 PM

Dear StG,
First of all I'd like to wish you and your family a very Joyous Easter. I'm not too concerned about the lack of Easter movies that you point out. Easter is pretty much covered in our neighbourhood. Our local Council sponsors a "Passion Play," in our nearby park on Good Friday. At our local church - we have the Stations of the Cross, (also on Good Friday). Then there's masses on Saturday and Sunday. There's programs on television - beginning with - Good Friday, 7.30pm on the ABC - Compass: "Stations of The Cross," The making of. This details the staging of the Stations of The Cross, a re-enactment of Jesus Christ's last hours - performed at Sydney's 2008 World Youth Day celebrations. Then on Easter Saturday - 11.40pm - on Channel Seven, "The Passion Of The Christ," the Mel Gibson controversial film details the final 12 hours in the life of Jesus Christ from the betrayal by Judas to his subsequent death. On Easter Sunday - at 6.00am - There's Easter Sunrise Service from the Sydney Opera House featuring a performance from singer Marina Prior. And, at 10.05pm - on the ABC - Compass again presents the second part of, "The Hidden Story of Jesus," Part 2. (I watched part 1 - last week). Its an interesting take by Robert Beckford who investigates the remarkable parallels to the Jesus story in other faiths. We can also go to their local DVD outlets and hire out any Easter Classic movie that we desire. "The Robe," and "Quo Vadis," remain my two favourites. Thanks Foxy. You too, to you and yours.
Geez, The Robe is a fraction epic. hehe. It's a great thing that everyone around you gets involved and does something. I think everyone should know why this weekend is special. And it is, while we're all getting something out of it. What's next?, no Miracle on 49th at CHRISTMAS?. Posted by StG, Thursday, 9 April 2009 2:57:55 PM

Dear StG,
Easter at our house involves not only Church visits, but traditions like - the colouring and decorating of Easter eggs. This is a challenge to everyone's artistic ability. Coloured eggs are a must at the Easter breakfast. Traditional custom prevails in the choosing of an egg for strength of shell by tapping one egg against another. The reward for the winner with the unbroken shell is the loser's egg. The menu for Easter Sunday Lunch (shared with family and friends) involves items like - Stuffed Roasted Goose or Duck, Cold Baked Ham, Homemade Sausage, Vegetable Salads, Easter Bread, variety of fruit, homemade cheese, Easter Butter Lamb (table decoration), Coffee and so on. The festivities for this Christian holiday in the pasted lasted for approximately one week. The season would end with LOW SUNDAY, affectionately referred to in some areas as "Little Easter." Hey you guys,
Have a perfectly wonderful weekend. Until I read this thread I didn't know it was Easter yet as this is not only the Land of Noxmas but the Land of Noeaster too. Enjoy. And will someone please, please eat a Cadbury's cream-filled egg for me? Posted by Romany, Thursday, 9 April 2009 11:48:46 PM

Easter's one of those traditions that once had religious significance to most people, but now is only 'sacred' as a break from work for the majority. Indeed, the best aspects of it are family get-togethers, hot cross buns and chocolate.
Ever heard of DVDs, StG? Posted by CJ Morgan, Friday, 10 April 2009 7:51:13 AM

a movie about jesus was to be released on the day the twin towers came down[not mal gibbersons effort], but its release was cancelled when the towers fell down, and im not sure it was ever released after that
i think it was about the ursurors who gained hansomly from the towers falling down, the owner alone got near 3 billion, and those who speculated on airline stocks falling cashed in big time[as well the gold reserves in building 7 wewre never recovered but anyhow JESUS DIED FOR OUR SINS TODAY Jesus, you shall call him emanuel,[meaning god with-in us all] died for us on this day, so we give our kids choco-late eater-eggs, and despite jesus upseting the money changers tables yet we give bankers [pharoes, ursurors]bail outs? huh? there has to be a topic worthy of discusion [on this day especially]...in all of this # http://forum.onlineopinion.com.au/thread.asp?discussion=2663 see that banks lend from the fed, who charges the banks ursury, that the banks charge you [on top of bank fees] then the bankers cartel charge ursury to the govt for its own money..[govt is you the tax payer]...so you pay tax to pay ursury on behalf of govt to the bankers that equate to those who sought jesus to die on this day then the bankers get in trouble [so we the tax [and ursury] payers... bail out the banks ,WHO CREATE FIAT FOR FREE yes jesus died for our [and their sin/sins, so if govt lends at ursury from the fed [and bankers lend at ursury off the fed, how come no one is talking about any of the insanity of the ursurors who killed your christ on this day especially public correctionn apriciated [and will be seen as an act of giving truth [love] for truth [on this day]that jesus died for us as pauline says ; please explain? Anyway...
We celebrate it but we can't watch a movie about it?.
The Passion of The Christ is the only one on and THAT'S at midnight on Sunday!.
Before you Atheists pipe up......SHUSH.....you've got your own CHANNEL. Yep, the Discovery Channel.
Mate, bring ON a movie about Ramadan. Bring ON a movie about Buddha. Bring ON a movie about whatever floats Pagans boats, I'll even celebrate THEIR holidays, just don't mess with my Easter Movie.
IF you've got a problem with Easter. GO volunteer or something. Leave my MOST IMPORTANT RECOGNISED day alone.
