The people of NSW have just had enough. This has got be the lowest ebb in public administration in NSW under Labor since WW2.We are looking to the Liberals to show us discipline, integrety, planning and inspiration. All we see is poor judgement and petty politics.

Within the Liberal ranks,I'm told that they don't expect to win next March. What a defeatest attitude to have.Perhaps this is why Peter Debnam went the extra yards and toyed with personality attacks on Bob Debus which have back fired.Who is advising him?

If Labor gets back in ,they will just continue on their merry way of destruction since we will have not demonstrated through the ballot box that there are consequences for incompetence. They will not even limit the size of the Public Service through natural attrition. Now this is where most of our money has been wasted. They are enslaved by the Public Service Union while the rest of us suffer.

Many will now vote for independants at the next election. This could give the Greens the balance of power and what an almighty mess will NSW be in then.Businesses and people are fleeing NSW right now, just imagine what the Greens will do to the NSW economy.

What we really need is a referendum to give the people of NSW a third choice of an administrator oppointed by the Federal Govt,so the two major parties get time to smarten up their acts. The people of NSW have lost all faith in their public administrators.

If the Greens get in ,we,the people of NSW,will be the dead men walking.

Yep,I'm about to fade into oblivion with all but one comment who cannot even spell Peter Debnam's name correctly. If we get the Govts we deserve, then that does not say much about the the political nous of our general population.

If the general population do not even have an inkling of how our economy functions in terms of real productivity verses Govt waste, then we are destined to repeat our past failures.

Our left wing education system is found to be very wanting in this respect.

Arjay,

Try not to despair. The lack of comment does not necessarily mean people are not concerned. It may mean simply that there is a tacit recognition that the supposed alternative is not seen as a real alternative, and that therefore there is little point in commenting. I have commented in the thirtieth post on the To Poowoomba topic thread about a widening gulf between the electors and the elected throughout Australia. Your posts here indicate basic agreement with that proposition. Whilst the quality of government in Australia's most populous and economically most significant State is a matter of great importance, simply changing the government does not even begin to address the underlying problem as to why the political process so consistently throws up such poor performance. I suspect most people subliminally recognize this.

I believe it is time for ordinary people to start thinking outside the box. The ballot box, that is. Will the ballot box any longer let Australians demonstrate their true majority opinions? Do not mistake my meaning. I am not advocating any abandonment of democracy, nor any change to the voting system. To do so would introduce a red herring. What I do suggest is that for a very long time, in various subtle ways, both the spirit and letter of the respective electoral laws have been flouted so consistently and to such an extent that, without it being realized, control over the composition of our various Parliaments has been effectively taken from the Australian people. We may have, across the board, many puppets as our representatives. But we do not hold their strings. Many genuine majority decisions, over the years, may not have shown up.

Might I suggest you ponder what is really being said in this link, and the three posts that follow:

Rest assured, the Constitution is capable of providing a way out of this mess. Your second last paragraph shows you may be ready to receive it, if it is implemented. I wonder how ready how many others are?

Lo and behold, only Arjay can compress so many words into the smallest of ideas here on OLO.
