ABC NEWS: ‘Sprung’: Live Exporters taking 40 million in subsidies from Public Purse

Last year's review into Australia's quarantine procedures recommended exporters pay the full costs of export approvals.. That would not cover all of the money spent out of the public funds because we would have to look at the Regional Development Grants Transport Grants and many others. So for those of you who think there are more important things to worry about than animal cruelty we say hey look at the funds that could be going into your kids schools hospital police.

http://www.abc.net.au/rural/news/content/200902/s2492453.htm

It should be noted even if it cost nothing it takes our jobs and is barbaric.

Pre Election PALE who is not a member of Animals Australia or PETA was contacted by then Ministers office. The phone call was IOP misleading at best. We were asked to believe a Rudd Government would put an end to this unnessary cruel trade.

Questions now must be asked of ALP to their dodgey way of dealing.
We ALL saw the pre eection pitch by the Rudd Government to win the votes of Australian`s.
With the world crisis we need ALP State and Federal Governments to reopen the Abattoirs here NOW!

The article says no such thing. I've explained that one to you
before Gertrude, but you seem either too stupid to understand it or don't
want to understand it.

With so little attention to what is accurate, no wonder most people
ignore your posts. You can only blame yourself.

Just flapping your wings endlessly with animal welfare posts, will
not do it for you. Meantime cattle are starving in Queensland from
the floods. Best you deal with problems at your doorstep first.

Yabby

This is not excluding Live Animal Exports- so why pretend otherwise.
We also as you would know have off shore companies on an even higher level of subs.

Apart from anything else we have a history of rejecting Aussie Companies of grants or subs in favour of off shore companies

One quick example that comes to mind was an Australian Farmer asking for a $5000.00 loan. He had the rest cash to buy a abattoir. He was told sorry no funds. Three weeks later a company from Japan was given 23 million for the same plants pluss more subs than our Australians. So where do you think that money came from Yabby. ? It was from the public purse.

I understand your probably busy writing your letters and frankly Nicky not posting on this thread is great.

BTW we have loads on the way right now. Pity the others didnt help instead of just rubbishing those who are hands on.

I may use the peace an quite in here anyway to post a open letter- (copy only ) that was written in the last few weeks to another Animal Welfare member.

I just think its important to set the record straight.

Remember we are not the ones opposing more compertition for farmers in Australia to sell their stock.
