In all due respect, Steel, the number of incidents of maid abuse here in SG has been increasing, and as is well know here in SG, the true numbers have been withheld until now. I have personally intervened on the street when maids have been abused (physically and verbally). The incident I report on here has made headlines here in all forms of media. Another strikingly similar case was just headlined yesterday.

If you read carefully into what I have posted on my (already hugely trafficked) blog, the media are now beginning to be allowed access to court trancsripts, many of which were previously unavailable. Most Australians are unaware of many of the issues faced here in SG by foreign workers, hence my reason for posting on an Aussie forum - no hidden motives, and only accurate information. Oh - and my heart does bleed for these poor victims - that's my problem, not yours.

Finally - to the other posters - of course is nothing to do with religion - SG is the most diverse country in the world when it comes to religion.

Friend it is not just maids and indeed is world wide.
Even here in Australia we hear often of such things in our city's.
Greed and human nature will see it forever.
