Why are so many American Presidents Lefties?

I got the idea for this thread while scrawling
through the web for differences between the
Left and the Right in politics.

I came across a site that took me
to a totally different perspective on the "Left"
and "Right" theme.

Did you know that Barack Obama is left handed?
As is Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush (George W. is
right handed), as is Gerald Ford, Ronald Regan, and
John McCain.

Seeing as only 10% of people are left-handed, it's
interesting that there are so many American Presidents
who are left-handed. Scientists and historians
explain left-handedness with outside the box thinking.
This can be a political strength.

I wonder how many Australian politicians are left-handed?

And does left-handedness go with lateral thinking?

Your thoughts please?

In the case of George Bush I don't think it is a case of lateral thinking.Perhaps it is a case of Darwin Ankers Creek, when the right hand gets tired, they have to use the left.

Dear Arjay,

I don't think George W. being right-handed,
could use his left hand (even when his right
got tired).

He's not that versatile.

He has trouble speaking.

Dear Demos,

You could be right...
Lefties could have qualities that make them
natural politicians.

According to the net - left-handed people
are intellectually more advanced (higher IQ's).
They supposedly have more developed language skills.
They think "outside the box."

And 66% of US Presidents in the last 30 years were
left-handed.

I scrawled through the lists of famous left-handed
people and was surprised to learn how many there were:

Alexander the Great
Charlemagne
Julius Caesar
Napoleon Bonaparte
Queen Victoria
Dr Albert Schweitzer
Peter Ustinov
Albert Einstein
Isaac Newton
H.G.Wells
Lewis Carroll
Mark Twain
Leonardo da Vinci
Michelangelo
Pablo Picasso
Cecil Beaton
Henry Ford

The lists go on and on.

And it's amazing that only 10% of the population is
left-handed.

According to the net - left-handed people are ones
who are also prepared to take risks.

I suppose if Michelangelo hadn't been preparedd to take
risks he would have ended up painting the Sistine
Chapel's floor, instead of its ceiling.

Dear Foxy

you wonder about these things.. as do a lot of people.

There are some theories.. mostly of the 'conspiracy' type..and some of them connect directly to the Vatican. Forrest would have a lot to say about this.

It seems to me that today we have a kind of 'pseudo' royalty in the form of 'wealth'.. and power.. and it is not in any of their interests to destroy their sources of power and wealth.

You will often find that Politicians on opposite sides of the political divide are also members of the same clubs.
The Fabians is one I've heard mentioned a lot.

Most of this goes along the lines of

Adam Weishaupt-> Rothchilds-> Financial control of state money etc..

You might find this interesting also:

As for me, there are 2 things which work against my becoming 'immersed' in this kind of thing.

1/ My distance from and powerlessness in regard to the events and people mentioned.
2/ My faith which is in the providence of God and the return of our Messiah where all men will be judged.

I've been trawling the net for ages
trying to find out which Australian
politicians are left handed.

And, I'm not successful at finding
the website that would give me this
information.

If anyone can help. I would appreciate
it.

All I've managed to find out regarding
Australian politicians is that Malcolm
Turnbull is a Leftie and Harold Holt
was as well.

Who are the others?

Not only left-handedness! Have you seen the list of vegetarians? And those who part their hair on the right?

Dear Spikey,

You made me laugh out loud...

Thank You.

And Thanks to all of you who have contributed to
this thread.

I was hoping to hear from a few left-handed
people and how they coped in a right-handed
world.

But never-mind.

I'm going to be away for the next couple of
weeks, so I won't be able to respond to
any posts. But I will read them all when
I come back.

Again, Thanks to everyone who took the
time, for their input.
