I can't remember who wrote this
But it's still one of my favourites: "The truth is life is mostly very dull, and peace and war are ordinary things. Most jumbo jets don't fall out of the sky, most bills get paid. Most people do not die by firing squad. Most houses are not full of revolutionaries: their occupants are born into a class they did not choose, are unemployed, or work, and hear the news as flitting headlines full of fables which suggest their lives could be improved a bit, though not as much as some they watch, remote, and pity, for a moment, while the roasts or sausages appear upon the plate. And love can be mature, and not romance when years hack into energy: the strain of keeping up appearances for most can last a lifetime. Decency that's learnt in little things remains: the sense of shock when refugees or soldiers are attacked for being what they are; a parent or a lover hurls abuse we never thought could be contained in mirrors held so close. The quick familiar things revolve like days that idle or rush on in retrospect and hurry us toward what we expect: no stunning glory, or outstanding grief, but lights on in a daytime cavalcade: the only time we lead the big parade." Ahhh, he's from the USA.
That explains everything. There's actually a town in the USA, Kennesaw, where in the early 80's it was "law" that every house must have a gun. And guess what? Burglaries actually went "UP" after the stupid law was enacted. Only in the USA! Posted by philips, Sunday, 3 August 2008 2:32:02 PM

LOL yes Bloke Only in the USA.
Hope you don't hold it against me, there are some of us trying to make things better. Foxy your post was great, i liked that a lot. I was born in Connecticut > NE But funny haha I am about 80 miles south of Kennesaw , GA. Posted by PaaatRiot101, Sunday, 3 August 2008 2:44:37 PM

well Hi, I just spent quite awhile trying to post you compliments on your writing Foxy and Usual suspect, but this 350 word limit is gonna drive me bonkers. I got cut off last night, had my 4 posts, guess you really gotta make your words count here. Why such tight limits?
Yes we are about 45 minutes below ATL. , Peachtree city is between here and there. I like living in the country, I am in a Tiny little town called Hogansville> Kennesaw was a major battle stand in the civil war.So you don't mind I stay even if I'm American ? I'm not a guy either> My Husband is LOL> D is for Debbie. It could all be avoided,i'LL TRY TO FIT AN EXCERPT lol At the very least postponed. If The people knew what was going on But how to let them know … Go online And do research About the foods we eat Today, The food chain’s been corrupted Just don't ask of the FDA Everything is fine Is all they ever say G.M. G.E. Check it out you'll see There's not much left Alter free From sea to Shining sea. BsE BVL , There are so many more, They know But don't tell. Eat lean cuts, And cook them well. Start a garden, you never can tell. You Might have Need. . . Find good seeds, While there's still A slim chance To Save one of God's blessings Naturally Reproducing Unaltered plants. Do you need that dose Of pesticide Everytime you eat a fruit? Or that herbicide Built inside That limp And rubbery cuke ? Are the antibiotics in our milk really good for you? The cows are sick from Human growth hormones, What are they doing to you? Hormones, antibiotics, altered DNA do any of us really know what went in our bodies today? Dear Debbie,
Welcome to the Forum of Online Opinion. It's going to be interesting to get a different view of things from you. There's so much history associated with the South. My husband and I travelled throughout that country a few decades ago. We loved it. The people were so friendly. We loved the food, the French influence. The hospitality was terrific... Again, welcome, and Thank You for your kind words. Posted by Foxy, Wednesday, 6 August 2008 11:20:04 AM

A few little things we all need to know
about the powers that be,
They're not looking out
for the every day Joe
people
like you and like me
They're so patient
and sneaky
and ooze power
and money
in secret they work
to control
you
and me
They divided us first
putting up man made partitions
choose a side
get in line
for abortions and religions
At Our fingertips
is easy access
to the world wide web
So Can we join together
now
and say
what needs to be said?
A miracle is what we need
to get us to unite
Come together
join me now
Get pens in hand
and write
Little Virginia was told
that her Santa Clause was real
I listen to my heart
and know
what I feel
is quite real
Communication is the way
for us to save the day
But to work
we must unite
Be clear
about what we say
Patriot act
instilled fear
in many
a good citizen
good works came
abruptly to
disappointing
unfruitful
ends
Pick up YOUR flag
print the "miracle" post (inquiries welcome, but probably too long to post here)
walk
to your mailbox
with pride
Giddy Up
Patriots
we're in it together
hold on
it might be a rough ride.
