"If Obama proves to be as impressive a leader as he is an orator - we have a good chance of moving towards a more equitable global SOCIETY" I am internationalist and I support any move which bring people, nations, countries closer to each other. I prefer strong international bodies and I wish the conversion of UN to an international government. Posted by ASymeonakis, Wednesday, 11 June 2008 9:12:23 AM

I wanted to finish with this thread and move to an other thread, in really I tried to create a new thread about the future of Australia but it REJECTED, did not open the thread! I am against any free trade and free movement with Asian countries because I believe it could destroy the labors and small business and disappear our civilization but Pericles and Col Rouge do not leave me! Thank you for your understanding! About the "Natural childbirth would become obsolete" Last year my daughter was pregnant and see was overdue about two weeks. From hospital advised her for Natural childbirth, one day visited her a nurse and said her not to worry, no risks for the child, next day it died! My daughter is again pregnant but this time she left Australia and went in Cyprus for better and more responsible support, a Cypriot professor in London University said, in Europe in overdue child cases, doctors analyze in laboratory various factors every 10 hours, to be sure that the child is not at risk. Here about two weeks overdue and they did not analyze anything, One day the nurse said do not worry and next day my grand son was dead! In our days doctors save the life of 5-6 months old baby and my grandson died two weeks overdue. Col Rouge, There are good and bad employers, a good employer usually is a successful businessman/woman a bad employer usually is a bad businessman/woman but some times they can succeed too if they avoid the prison. rehctub, you are not so bad as I thought at begin, "I manage to work about 80 hours per week" I do the same thing but I am not sure if I need a mental doctor or not, I can not explain why I am working when all other people are enjoying their life. "Col Rouge, There are good and bad employers, a good employer usually is a successful businessman/woman a bad employer usually is a bad businessman/woman but some times they can succeed too if they avoid the prison." Interesting post, maybe I am a little obtuse this today - but what the farck has it got to do with the thread or what I have posted here? Posted by Col Rouge, Sunday, 15 June 2008 12:43:59 PM

Key US states to watch
As in the previous two presidential elections, there are about a dozen states that could swing in 2008. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7449629.stm Posted by ASymeonakis, Tuesday, 17 June 2008 7:01:01 AM

Coincidence, a friend had already sent me a link to Chris Hedges "America's Democratic Collapse" speech.
It is a terrific compilation of facts and analysis - I too share your concern of the 'corporate state'. It is true that Democrats are influenced by the big monopolies, however, as with Labor, there is still an thread of ideology towards the good of the average person.
If Obama proves to be as impressive a leader as he is an orator - we have a good chance of moving towards a more equitable global SOCIETY.
Whatever the result in the USA, it will have ramifications around the world - we are all in this together.
Cheers
