NSW Rail Bribes Scandal

Its been in the headlines for month millions of dollars spent for work that was never done.
Hidden behind the lie , its for the blokes Christmas do, it mounts to millions that could have got our rail up to the speed of a speeding snail.
Is all the blame on the thief? the criminal contractor and the criminal front line boss?
Or must management take its share of the load?
My post history tells of my working in a NSW government department not rail but roads.
I have seen whole stockpiles sold, so very much more but sorry truly sorry no intent to manage has ever been sown by those paid to do so.
One meter away from my head is a state award for my efforts but as I leave for work I will drive past things not unlike NSW rail can we ever hope for better?

Hi Belly

well..you know how I'm likely to respond to such situations :)

"All have.............. "

But in the interests of world peace.. I'll refrain :)

Good that you raised it though... seems to me like as Jesus said "New wine cannot be placed in old wineskins, or they will burst"

Well the labor government did get their high flyers from overseas so what do you expect.

The government is labor so they look after themselves.

They will finish off their privitisation of rail and only leave the city circle.

Thats incompetence.

The problem is Belly is that the NSW public no longer pay any attention this farce of a Labor Govt.More scandals, corruption etc.We are just too busy surviving and no longer care.Nothing surprises us anymore.

They have driven this State into the ground and it will take at least 10yrs even with good Govt,to turn it around. As Malcolm Turnbull said,"Even if they do sell off the power,I think that it is too late for NSW."

No shame,no remorse,no opologies.Just greedy pigs feeding off the long suffering people of NSW.The Unions must also must take their share of the blame in the destruction of our state.

How can it be that the Govt of Singapore owns OPTUS and the Communist Govt of China wants to own our power, and our own Govts just sell us down the sewer? No courage,no vision and no balls!!

It has bugger all to do with what team is in government,God is not the subject.
Over seas management? weird stuff.
In fact during my time in the RTA just after we achieved the first ever wages EBA.
And an agreed plan for constant improvement the RTA top executives transfered to rail, took over to try for the same reforms.
None from over seas?
Max Moore Wilton was strange but over seas, well maybe some times.
In most government endeavors[ yes I am the bloke who is enraged at power sell of] a blight exists.
These crimes against tax payers grew on lax management, management that blames every thing on front line workers but is in fact the problem.
How could they not know?
Why did they leave contracts in the hands of people who gave work worth millions to their wives?
Nick whats his name? the last conservative leader of this state had such management while in power.
We need to contract out management rolls pay using proved key performance indicators and remember, like it or not unions have warned ministers for a very long time contractors are often the very worse yet paid top dollar.
Some of the contractors you drive past daily are selected by the amount of grog they put in the back of a Ute each day.
You and I hopefully would keep closer watch on many millions spent or would we?

Belly,
You are right, it does not matter which major party forms government, corruption still takes place. Both major parties have sold off our states assets, so I don't understand why, suddenly, there is concern about selling the electricity. Other very important assets have been sold, like the State Bank, for a song without so much as a whimper from the unions.

How to stop corruption? I don't know, but whistle blowers should be praised and not hounded out of a job. Integrity should be rewarded.

Banjo my comments here tieing my last job with the current crimes being uncovered tie in with my past story's about my failed whistle blowing.
Few are not upset at this crime but even less want to actually do something about it.
That screams to me of a problem we see getting worse, let some one else do it.
Its not my job, why stick my head out?
It is true all politicians all party rule over such crimes some get involved in them.
But if we wait till we get a chance to vote them out it is no cure.
My latest trip is over home again but I did drive past men on overtime shifts to reward them for keeping quite while the evil continues.
Yes minister is more like reality than you think , some ministers never look never see never ask.
