talk of animal welfare far more than our own?..
Palecomments
Belly as Gandhi Once said- You Can judge a Nation by the way it treats its Animals.
Not only does this apply to common deceny but also good business business management which further leads to a strong economy.
The issue of Live Animal Exports is not only a moral one but a economic one that effects each person in this country.
For Example Belly you once asked rather angrily what Live Animal Exports had to do with Rudd and China in trade.
The fact is Belly that from your hard earned pay YOU like everybody else is propping up the ceruel live animal trade without even knowing it.
The Government count on the ignorance of the everday person to support the industry that in return makes large donations to their parties.
There is overwheliming evidence available, to illustrate the complex, wide reaching web of economic benefits that the meat industry processing sector brings to the Australian community and economy at large, particuarly within the rural areas.
" Now before you rush in and say, oh heres another thread highjacked by those Animal Welfare people I will remind you we are speaking of Australian people and economy."
Every feedlot that the Government assists in setting up via foreign aid program is yet another diversion of jobs and vaule - adding from the Australian economy and community.
It is assistance that might have been alternatively channled towards building more abattoirs here and opening many factories that spin off from those raw materials creating training infustructure and employment.
You cant have a strong nation when you are forcing your people to send millions of dollars off Shore to the middle east to built abattoirs and factory`s there.
For a strong economy you must have good moral practises right the way through.
This is one of the things I think That Gandhi was refering to when he said=
You Can judge a Nation by the way it treats its Animals.
