We had the terrorists in the corner. The war in Iraq, the lies, the....the... drived the westerners in difficult position and it has created the best conditions for Al Queda to recruit members and training them in Iraq. The war in Iraq was a huge mistake and it has been totally contrary to the war against Muslim extremists.
Muslims must learn to trust and respect us but how they can trust and respect us when we do so many stupid things?
One day we must learn to use our brain, I hope in the current century!

It’s not about the Bush admin’s lack of honesty ,and its not about Iraq.
To draw such conclusions is to loose perspective .

Osama & his ilk has a list of breaches from East Timor’s independence, to the driving of the Moors out of Spain, to the mere fact that infidels are allowed to step foot in Arabia.

If you take Bush’s “lies” & multiply them by 100, you have the norm in most Islamic societies ( at both the secular & religious level)

The most effective way to win the war on terror is for Islamic societies to open up.Allow balanced & open presentation of opposing views on history & religion

I am not sure if I can understand you what you mean by --If you take Bush’s “lies” & multiply them by 100, you have the norm in most Islamic societies ( at both the secular & religious level)-- I know there was some extreme patriots who said if you do not agree with us (Bush lies, Iraq war the biggest strategic mistake of USA, huge cost more than 3trillions, for Iran's benefits)you are with our enemies but when they found that even 80% of Britain did not agree with them, even the mass majority of Americans do not agree with them, then they shut up their mouth.
The problem with Al Queda is not the lies but something more difficult to solve. A lier loses his credibility and finishes the story but Al Queda try to returns the history back and try it with the holy war, with religious tools. that is the big problem.

The reason for going into Iraq were several but included

Saddam Hussein was a psychopathic despot with access to biological weapons which he had used on his own people.

A history of refusal to comply with UN resolutions to allow inspectors in to review his chemical weapon capabilities.

The combined forces who liberated Iraq from the despot acted to the benefit of those millions of Iraqis whose daily existence was in peril.

You need to review the recent history of Iraq before you presume all its problems are a function of “western lies”.

As for Al Queda,.

The Insurgents were, primarily, not Iraqi nationals. Most of them were recruited from around the middle east from Yemen to Afghanistan, Pakistan to Syria and Jordan.

As for the lies, get real. The lies of the west pale into insignificance when you read the total garbage which most politicians in power, through means less scrupulous than the western democratic political systems, vomit forth.

Before I migrated to Australia, I considered all the rest of the world too.

I ignored the Middle East, Asia, Africa and South America because, as destinations, they were inferior options to USA, Canada, New Zealand or Australia and of those, Australia was the best.

Tell me, if Muslims lack respect for the Western way of life, why are they queuing up to migrate in droves away from their homeland to take up residence in US, UK, Australia etc?

Because they think we are stupid and untrustworthy?

Or because they see a better way of life?

They took the army, call their self liberators and invade to Iraq to grab the OIL!
THEY LOSE 3 TRILLION DOLLARS, CAUSED THOUSAND HUNDREDS OF DEATHS, BENEFIT THEIR HARD ENEMY IRAN, LOSE THEIR REPUTATION INTERNATIONAL, 80 OF BRITAIN WAS AGAINST THE WAR IN IRAQ, 88% OF GERMAN AGAINST THE WAR OF IRAQ AND OF CAUSE THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS WHEN THE LEARNED THE TRUTH.
