Ahhh...those yanks! Mighty protectors of the western world!
As they goof off and their military falls into exhaustion and disarray and the Pentagon hierarchy fights and squabbles with the White House... both China and Russia look for opportunities. It could hardly otherwise. 1. would China use the Olympic Games as a cover for an invasion of Taiwan? 2. if the Olympic Games turn out to be a flop, which is quite possible, will China take her anger into an invasion of Taiwan? The answer to both questions is... quite possibly. And all the time the mighty USA goofs off. Posted by Gibo, Thursday, 13 March 2008 10:27:25 AM

I do not think Chinese leaders are so Idiots to invade to Taiwan. The question is if Bush is enough smart to avoid a military conflict with Iran. I do not trust him. Without Iran's support he has no choice in Iraq and if he take military action against Iran he will have big problems not only in Iraq but Afghanistan, Lebanon and Palestine. Yes, George Bush is in a pickle.
I dont think he is really in charge though. There are many powers behind the Presidency that control the USA. The US military and the CIA probably call most of the nations shots. I reckon they "own" Australia through their secret bases being here. Australia is really Americas other Pacific state..and nothing is going to change that. Yes, I do think that China will invade Taiwan. They look for the door to complete their mission in bringing Taiwan back into their camp. Wouldnt it be interesting if China used the Olympic games as a cover for an invasion? There would be so many westerners on Chinese soil America would be thwarted in stopping the invasion. I think the Olympics will be a flop and then later on China will get so angry in her embarassment she will cross over to take Taiwan. With the Chinese....its all face. Gibo about china The State Department of USA, removed china from the list of the worst offenders of human rights in 2007. Last year the Communist party of China which governs the Country, asked the Socialist International (international organization from socialist, socialist-democratic and Labor Parties) to become member of SI and of cause it rejected, but it tries to improve its relations with other countries.
China will not accept an independent Taiwan country, member of the UN but I think they are ready to accept the Taiwan semi-autonomous as the Hong Kong. The State Department lists the following countries as the worst offenders of human rights in 2007: North Korea, Burma, (Myanmar), Iran, Syria, Zimbabwe, Cuba, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Eritrea, Sudan The list for 2006 was the same, except: China was on it. Syria and Uzbekistan were not on it. If the top US military commander in the Middle East resigned, (he was a very strong personality, a strategic brain,) then you can understand that Bush or better his vice president governs the America and the rest of the world. Personally I believe (more than 85%) Bush will take military action against Iran's strategic Industries, including Nuclear installations. Unfortunately the peace movement, the movement against the war is sleeping a deep sleep and they did not grab this opportunity to press Bush for not military action against Iran. Admiral William Fallon, the head of US Central Command, was described in an Esquire article published last week as a lone voice within the administration arguing for restraint.
The article's author, Thomas Barnett, had predicted that if Admiral Fallon was pushed out of his job "it may well mean that the president and vice-president intend to take military action against Iran before the end of this year and don't want a commander standing in their way"
The head of US Central Command told Al Jazeera last fall <<I expect that there will be no war, and that is what we ought to be working for. We ought to try to do our utmost to create different conditions>> Well-placed observers now say that it will come as no surprise if Fallon is relieved of his command before his time is up next spring, maybe as early as this summer, in favor of a commander the White House considers to be more pliable. If that were to happen, it may well mean that the president and vice-president intend to take military action against Iran before the end of this year and don't want a commander standing in their way.
Admiral William Fallon was quietly opposed to a long-term surge in Iraq, because more of our military assets tied down in Iraq makes it harder to come up with a comprehensive strategy for the Middle East, and he knew how that looked to higher-ups.
