...control the future?

Labor have successfully rejuvenated the Keating brand-name and laid claim to the title of economic reformers. They have won some credit for the relatively affluent economy of the last 10 years, and managed to discount both the pain and seeming disdain that Keats gifted us.

Labor has rewritten it's rhetoric re the US- no more conga lines lines. Just a voice of calm, an apparent voice of reason. Yeah for Afghanistan, and a quick shake of the head for Iraq. Hawke's Navy only in the Gulf' policy an ideal? Two bob each way seems attractive right now.

Meanwhile Howard and co. are no more than lame in their attempts to sell "go for growth". Remember JWH's opening to the (worm infested) debate? Thought not.

Rudd has managed to set the agenda thus far, and in realpolitik, deserves his imminent transcending to the political throne.

Any dis-interested comment?

since i have demonstrated contempt for the major parties, and believe the minor parties are worse, i might qualify as disinterested.

but then, why participate in olo?

i have an interest in democracy. the looming crises in resources and environment, and the developing atmosphere of resource wars, are the result of parliamentary government, which is the current model of oligarchy in the western, 'advanced' nations. they call themselves democracies, but that is pure newspeak, the cynical diseducation of credulous proles.

the only hope for survival of the human race as masters of their destiny is real democracy. without it, technology will create an irresistible ruling class which will use genetic enhancement to seal their superiority over the short-loved, weaker, dimmer, and submissive remnants of homo sapiens.

this is not necessarily a bad thing, weeding out an inferior species might make the planet a better place. but if you don't want your grandchildren to be 'deltas' in a society combining features of 'brave new world' and '1984', better get busy now.

"And those who forget the past are condemned to re-live it."

Enter Mr Menzies. He's the one who invited Britain to Australia to conduct atomic tests on this fair land. And oh boy, did they leave a mess!

So what has Pig Iron's clone, Atomic Johnny got in store for us....Mmmmm?
