My view has always been, FH, that it is against everything we are supposed to be as human beings to take another life.

Both previous generations in my family were involved in World Wars, my father in the Navy, my grandfather in the trenches in 1917-18. Having listened to both experiences, I know that I would be able to defend my country if necessary, and to point whatever weapon they gave me at whomever they told me to shoot at. But that is my limit.

In cases of killing another person through the judicial system, however heinous the crime, I simply cannot bring myself to condone it. I know that they are evil, I know that they are scum - especially where children are concerned - but I still cannot justify execution to myself.

It is probably the only issue on which Boaz and I agree.
