cuphandel I see nothing in your post that convinces me you know better than anyone else.
In fact I do not quite understand your reference to clowns.
Can it be you truly think elections by the majority are flawed because your views remain those of a small minority?

John Howard can you spare me a minute? just though I might share a few thoughts with you.
What say you give that international climate change group a call? join.
And workchoices do you ever wish you had thought it out better?
Say one national system based on the NSW model?
And maybe harder laws and fines for unions who step out of line not death sentence's?
No doubt AWB could have been better handled, but how can we clean that up?
Something big John me old mate thats what you want.
How about a snowy river type thing?
Recycle flood waters, or much of it inland?
The old fella tough bloke is not working John the after election debate will be cruel.

I do NOT think that it would be worth my while trying to convince you of anything!

"Leesten vary carefully,....I shall say thees only once!"....

"Clown":
1:a performer, especially in a circus, who does comical tricks and actions
2:a person who is always behaving comically.

As for your statement that I voice the views of a small minority,..I would suggest to you that if your antiquated system of "Compulsory Voting" were to be abandoned, then we would see the real statistics of just how many people are genuinely interested in recording a vote, instead of the countless numbers who just place a mark upon the Ballot Paper simply to avoid a fine.

If you weren`t so calloused in your political thinking, then you may realise that these major parties make mileage out of the disillusioned "Donkey" voters and the like, who realise that when it comes to real choice, it is simply the choice between "Cancer" and "Aids",...either one is going to stuff you in the end!

There are a LOT of people out there who want to see a complete change away from this tired old "traditional" system and would like to opt for something different, something that is not propped up by money, power and equine excreta!....I too have a dream!

Cuphandle get a grip on that ego, it is needed.
You want me to think most people who vote do not understand why.
You have an idea so say it is the right one, and devalue all others.
You assure me many want another system than democracy yet fail to explain why they have not worked for it.
Like many you give little credit to the fact this election can only be won by the teams fighting it.
Howard's worn out old fellas vs Rudd's.
the result just must be one or the other.
After the election many will blame voters for the outcome.
A few like your self will claim an inner knowledge, Even questioning the voters right to think differently.
You are however quite right , it is unlikely you could teach me anything.

"You can lead a horse to water, but you can`t make it drink!"
In your case, you will surely perish from thirst!

You say the major parties will "battle it out" to determine a winner!
Yes, they will "battle it out", but in the process, waste many hundreds of thousands of dollars,.....money that SHOULD be spent on more worthy causes, such as Health, Dental, Roads, ad infinitum!.....You just don`t get it do you?...these vain, self-serving hypocrites are interested in one thing, and one thing only, and that is attaining the power of "Leadership", at which point no doubt the memory buds relating to the previous promises to the electorate will suddenly evaporate into thin air.

Electoral promises are generally "lies" fashioned and aimed at sucking-in a gullible and trusting public, in an effort to deceive and thus achieve victory, the winner being the biggest and most convincing bull-artist!

I say again that the days of the big party domination are morally over! We need a system that will allow small but honest candidates to have equality of chance of election to government, instead of it being restricted to the "manificent" money-tree backed moguls. There seems to be a flourishing mentality in Australia (and other countries) that ONLY a successful and well-heeled businessman is acceptable as a "possible victorious candidate"....Businessmen have one major aim in life, making profit to improve their own particular lifestyle,....they generally couldn`t give a hoot about the rest of the world as long as they are doing well!

Don`t get me wrong again!....I am not against "businessmen" in general,...just against them being elevated to the office of the leadership of the country. Regardless of what a lot of the "experts" may say,....running a country is NOT the same as running a big business!....there are a lot more human issues involved AND the CEO and his Board of Directors should NOT be allowed to vote themselves massive salary increases, at the expense of the "shareholders" (the citizens of Australia!

Cuphandle you want a world that will never exist.
It must be pointed out we have had so many small party's some full of hope , all failed.
Why?
Your views and theirs failed to get the support of voters.
Search the history of other country's, start with Italy, see the result of Parliament filled with many different views.
