I guess we can look at your web namesake "individuals". Costello has been good in Treasury, Abbott poor in Health, Nelson shocking in Education but seems to be handling Defence. The Ancient Greeks used parallel thinking regarding parties and individual: They would ostrasize a representatve mid-term for under performance and were less party focused. That is, a Liberal leaning voter might vote against Abbott [Liberal] in Manly.
[Aside: In some Greek City-States citizens where "called" to sit on government for a year -like jury duty- to break-up party politics.]
Howard? He is a politicians' politician and we know him well. I don't think his age is an issue. He is lucid and intelligent. The voter must ask is he right for them?
