"They're going to keep doing it." while politicians are allowed to make their own rules, some sort of "self regulation" nonsense, they will continue to feather their own nest. They have the most generous superannuation scheme in the country. Why? because they set it up themselves.

They only get away with it by letting bureaucrats get away with it !

Its because there's no penalty for doing the wrong thing.

When you make a seatbelt fine more than a weeks wages you tend not to want to break the law and get fined, politicians need similar penalties.

Exploit your entitlements, lose your entitlements.

If these overfed bloated-faced politicians were risking tomorrows turkey lunch and cranberry sauce and had to go stand in the corner wearing a dunce hat, they wouldn't be screwing around.

Right now its a trough they all get to wallow in, and they're all going to get every dollar they can, because everyone else is.
