The author of this article makes his claim following the latest COP in never-heard-of-before Belem in Brazil, where there was no pledge to cut fossil fuels, the venue caught fire, the air-conditioning failed, and delegates were told not to flush toilet paper.

Then there is Bill Gates recent “apologia” admitting that global warming will not lead to “humanity's demise”, and the ending of his climate philanthropy; and the closure of the Net Zero Banking Alliance, with JP Morgan, Bank of America, and three other banking entities leading a “stampede of other banks out the door”.

Shell and BP have returned to their core business, and Ford is about to stop production of Ford utes that “nobody wants”.

Even the Democrats in the US have stopped talking about climate change, according to the ‘Washington Post’. Hardly mentioned at all in the recent election campaign.

In the northern hemisphere, the EU has voted to exempt many companies from rules that require them to state how they are helping to “fight climate change”.

Of course, climate change cannot be stopped, so what's to fight?

The “long, lucrative ride’’ is over according to Matt Ridley. Climate change and its effects have been overdone. The effects have always been likely to be a “moderate inconvenience” rather than an existential threat. Now there is a scramble for the exit as donations dry up.

(Matt Ridley is a science writer and businessman. The longish article, including all the villains and general stuff on the climate myth, can be accessed on Google).
