In his “West's Self-Assisted Suicide”, Michael Galak (https://quadrant.org.au/features/qed/wests-self-assisted-suicide/) regrets the lack of leaders like Churchill, Reagan, Menzies, Howard and their like. Instead of leaders like them, we now have the likes of Joe Biden, Merkel, Macron and, of course, Albanese.

What Galak regards as “the proudest achievement of the human species - Western Civilisation - is “quietly expiring” under the assault of relentless and determined enemies, who are “gathering for the kill”. And, as many of us would agree, some Westerners are aiding and abetting those out to destroy us.

Galak harks back to when the suicide probably started: the days of anti-nuclear badges, People for Nuclear Disarmament, the World Council of Churches etc, and the calls for universal disarmament - orchestrated “by Moscow”. (Mr. Galak is a refugee from the USSR).

Now the protests against the West by the West are more sophisticated, supposedly apolitical. The environment has been “weaponised”. The West is being undermined under the guise of “saving the planet”. The ‘pollution’ is transferred to non-Western countries who don't have any qualms or embarrassment about using fossil fuels to improve their wealth and, one day perhaps, finish off the foolish West forever. The more we import, the weaker we become. And, we still hand over money we don't really have (well only in red ink) to our enemies.

See what he means by “Self-Assisted Suicide”?

Possibly. But the biggest danger is within - our lack of interest, our ignorance of what is happening or, knowing it's happening and hiding our heads in the sand, afraid that we might be be laughed at and ridiculed. We need to be brave, and talk about it. We can't rely on politicians: they are part of, if not most of, the problem.

As Franklin D. Roosevelt said; “Only Thing We Have to Fear Is Fear Itself”, Roosevelt was talking about the Great Depression of the 1930's, but he could just have easily been talking about the problem of today. Here we are presented with buckets loads of fear from a Michael Galak, supported by the ever reliable fearful ttbn. Mr Galak seems to believe all the problems of the world would have been solved if only we had developed more atomic weapons and rained them down on our "enemies" before they had a chance to respond.

As the one and only sensible responder to the thread, do you think that the lack of interest is one of the reasons the West will go under? Or do you think people know what is happening and are too scared stiff to talk about it? Or, like the only other responder, too stupid

Tbbt I think there is a serious concern about what this inbisile is talking about, i think he needs cico treatment. Definitely reading alternate news sources or ingesting things that should not happen. Plagiarising from communism propaganda or elsewhere for anti western values.

Unlike you, I will spell the pseudonym you use properly; but you have again called me Tbbt, not ttbn. You can't even manage basic respect. Either that, or you suffer from a reading disability.

And, what is an “inbisile”. Did you mean imbecile?

How about ‘cico’ instead of psycho?

“Definitely reading alternate news sources or ingesting things that should not happen. Plagiarising from communism propaganda or elsewhere for anti western values.” Means nothing either.

Nobody with your inability to to express himself, spell, or read properly, should be criticising a person like Michael Galak, who is a Russian refugee and highly qualified academic who has lived in Australia for almost 50 years. He is also a prolific writer.

I have referenced the article I reviewed, but I doubt that you would be able to read it, let alone understand what was written.

Speaking of self assisted suicide...

I see Australia has put itself on the map as a true innovator.

Woman ends her life in Aussie ‘suicide pod’
http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/news-life/woman-ends-her-life-in-aussie-suicide-pod/news-story/e68bcbb7bdcf3a80388595c55174bacb

Now, I was sitting here thinking to myself:
'Nitschke.. it that a German name?'
- And considering the irony of having a man with a German sounding surname whose invented and tested personalised gas chambers...

And so I did a google searching and I found this interesting article:

Between life and death
http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/between-life-and-death-20130826-2skl0.html

>>In the first set of page proofs of Damned If I Do sent out by Melbourne University Press, Nitschke was at his most candid. "After performing my role in those deaths, I had an urgent and pressing need for sex," he wrote. He was having an affair with a journalist and the sex, he says, was "frantic and sometimes desperate". But in a later set of proofs, the section is toned down. Sex has become a "desperate craving for intimacy". The meaning is still clear, and shocking, as much because of the bravery in the disclosure as the content. Quite simply, Philip Nitschke is an honest man. He has no guile.

Speaking in the comfortable North Adelaide townhouse he shares with his partner of 12 years, Fiona Stewart, Nitschke says the partners of the dead sometimes have the same feelings. Why be so frank when it will doubtless be used against him? "I haven't seen anyone else even mention it, and I thought it was worth mentioning."

Leaving the houses in which he had presided over a death, he says he felt sadness and a heavy sense of responsibility. Then he would look into the sunlight. "There was this immense feeling of being alive. And then taking a deep breath ... and almost immediately, this sexual urge. It was a way I could demonstrate to myself that I was alive. It wasn't me that was dead."<<

So not only do we have a guy with a German sounding last name invent personalised gas chambers, he's openly admitted that he can't help it that the feeling he gets after he's helped end someones life is that it gets his dick hard and he wants to ave intense passionate sex.

There a 9 openly Leftist Liberal politicians in the Senate, and 6 in the Lower House. The extended party in NSW is riddled with Leftists. Who knows how many there are sitting almost anonymously on the back benches collecting their unearned salaries and allowances.

ttbn,
That article stank with pro-Israeli bias right from the opening paragraph.

The guy bemoans western aid to Palestine, fine I'm happy to give them nothing.
Why don't you let them develop their own resources and let them live in peace in their own state then.

http://www.middleeasteye.net/opinion/israel-palestine-war-geopolitics-gaza-multibillion-dollar-gas-field

>>"The Occupied Palestinian Territory lies above sizeable reservoirs of oil and natural gas wealth, in Area C of the occupied West Bank and the Mediterranean coast off the Gaza Strip. However, occupation continues to prevent Palestinians from developing their energy fields so as to exploit and benefit from such assets," said the study conducted by UNCTAD in 2019.

The new resources of oil and natural gas finds in the Eastern Mediterranean are valued at an astounding $524bn. However, according to the UN report, a significant portion of those assets will have to be sourced from within the occupied territory of Palestine.<<

You know what I find really frustrating about the world in 2024.
Pretty much everyone who writes an article in the mainstream talks complete rubbish. And it's really sad, because just as often than not, all I have to do is spend 1 minute looking things up and finding some other snippet of info that the author omitted - that put a completely different slant on the rubbish they are trying to sell.

He got one thing right, our leaders are weak.
The answer there is simple, they're not statesmen.
They're not actual leaders, they're branch managers.
Slimy little sell-outs doing the bidding of others, because they're owned by others.

- The last article link you added

>>Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.<<

'they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents'

why is it that 'disobey you parents' is in there
why is it 'disobey your parents' is a sin as bad as anything

It seems very cultish and fanatical.
Like the standard teenager stand up to your parents rebellion thing just isn't allowed.
'If you do not respect my authoritah you are Work of the devil! You must be stoned to death dear child!'

I'm honestly not at all surprised this stonage religion is being relegated back to the stoneage.

AC,

“You might be thinking that the title of this article is hyperbolic, but it’s not. I’m being both serious and sincere in my contention that the nation of Australia is currently experiencing the wrath of God. This is demonstrated by the prevalence of wickedness which exists throughout our land. While things could always get worse, it’s my hope in writing this that the Lord may use it to lead His people to repentance and so revive the work of the Gospel in this place. (2 Chron. 7:14)”

There's the first paragraph. Where is Israel mentioned?

I didn’t see anything about Israel in the article. I've had another quick look. Nothing about Israel. Nothing about gas.

Are you sure you have the right article: “Is Australia Under the Judgement of God”

I added no “last” links. I added no links. I merely put in a reference to an article about Australia and God, written by Mark Powell, and categorised as ‘Australia/Biblical.

Have another look.

Well, I too would also be both serious and sincere if I responded by asking the question, what makes people think that God and not humans themselves are responsible for all this mess?

Gods punishing us
Gods testing us

Some posters have hallucinations when they look at information that they don't like. They have obsessions with certain subjects, imagining that their pet hate is lurking everywhere.

If they want to talk about Isreal all the time, they should at least be aware that the only thing that could possibly be related to Israel in this thread is that Israel the only country fighting for Western values.

Never mind. I think that I'll stop offering my opinions and threads. I'm too old for the sh.t. I'll wait to see what others have to say first.

"Some posters have hallucinations when they look at information that they don't like."

Oh my goodness... Why ttbn?

Why do you double down on stupid and argue on facts that are pretty clear to anyone?

I said: "That article stank with pro-Israeli bias right from the opening paragraph."
Now I will back up what I said.
This is your article right?
http://quadrant.org.au/features/qed/wests-self-assisted-suicide/

First paragraph,

Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Margaret Thatcher, Golda Meir, Ben Gurion, Menachem Begin, JFK, Ronald Reagan, Robert Menzies, John Howard – where are you, when we need you?

'Golda Meir, Ben Gurion, Menachem Begin'
These people all had a role in the creation of Israel did they not?

Menachem Begin played a part in the Bombing of King David Hotel, site of the central offices of the British Mandatory authorities of Palestine, principally the Secretariat of the Government of Palestine and the Headquarters of the British Armed Forces in Palestine and Transjordan killing 91 and injuring 76.
You do remember the Union Jack and which side your on, don't you.
Or is there a Star of David on your flag?

The next paragraph actually lost me, to be honest.
When he started whining about Merkel, but left out the idiots currently in charge Sholtz, Habeck and Angelina (I'm not sure she has a single working brain-cell in her head) Bareback, Brainfart, Baerbock
Germany would probably be in a far better position right now if Merkel was still there.

Then he complains about the Anti-nuclear campaigning...

I don't want 5 billion of the earths inhabitants to die in 72 minutes in a nuclear war. I got no problems with anti-nuclear campaigning, even if our 'adversaries' are doing it to gain a strategic advantage.

At the time, USSR was concerned about the Wests precision weapons, they were worried that the Wests advancements with precision guided weapons meant western non-conventention weapons posed as big a danger to Russia as a nuclear threat.

In the end what happened was DIPLOMACY and the anti-nuclear treaties, and we could all be dead right now if not for them...

But I digress...

But the article waffles on whinge, whinge, whinge,

"We are forced to buy the necessary fuel from OPEC and Russia" whinge whinge

Iran. Whinge Whinge

"Iran uses its profits to support anti-Israel and anti-US proxies throughout the Middle East and to enhance its military industries. Iranian cash translates directly into instability in the West Bank, Gaza, Yemen, Syria and Lebanon by supplying cash, training and arms."

Now were getting down to the real meat in the sandwich right?

Palestine. Whinge whinge whinge.

"Now let’s talk about Palestinians. The aid to Palestinian 'refugees', now in their fifth generation, came from various sources.

The refugees?
You mean the people in the tent camps inside the concentration camp on their own territory who are being bombed right now?

I said the article stank with pro-Israeli bias right from the opening paragraph, the authors thnking centres primarily around Israels interests...

Beyond that he may have made one or maybe two valid points
I agree the West is doing many things detrimental to itself i.e.'self-assisted suicide' but they're not the same reasons this author is laying out.

[shrugs shoulders]

Some people see the world through different lenses

America must prevail!
England must prevail!
Israel must prevail!

I don't see things in those terms.

Hi Paul,
- I told you the Starmer thing wasn't going to go well.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/sep/28/keir-starmer-hits-new-low-in-personal-popularity-ratings

"Keir Starmer’s personal ratings dropped further during his first Labour conference as prime minister, according to the latest Opinium poll for the Observer.

While party leaders hope for a conference bounce as a result of wall-to-wall media coverage, Starmer suffered the reverse effect, as his ratings plunged to their lowest ever level, and well below those of Rishi Sunak."

"Only 20% of voters think Labour has been good at providing hope and optimism following its landslide general election victory, against 56% who think it is has done badly in this respect."

Another dud, just like the other dud.
Why is it so, they aren't making choices in our best interests.

Hi AC,

I think Labour parties have become so fearful of their own socialist principles, due to attacks and ridicule by powerful conservative media interests, that instead of embarking on true reforms when in government, they now try to present themselves as "populist" with no real substance. Then people become disillusioned and dissatisfied with these so called Labour governments. In reality there is very little differentiation between the two major parties in England or Australia, we either elect Tweedle Dee or Tweedle Dum it don't much matter.

Not left lead western nation has anything serious to say about a apartheid nation deliberately targeting women kids and journalists in a genocide for land theft.

The left are an absolute affront to everything the West is supposed to stand for. Neutered dogs too scared to offend their Zionist friends.

EU Sues Hungary after failing to impose changes that would lead to regime change

http://www.news.com.au/world/middle-east/israeliranhezbollah-conflict-updates/news-story/585c9ac0fa655ff3db09f5d641610111

‘Hit the nuclear’: Trump urges aggression

>>Donald Trump, who will become president again in January if he wins November’s election, has told Israel it should strike Iran’s nuclear facilities, contradicting the Biden administration’s attempt to dissuade the Israeli government from making such a move.
Mr Trump made the remarks while speaking at a campaign event in North Carolina.
“They asked (Biden), what do you think about Iran? Would you hit Iran? And he goes, ‘As long as they don’t hit the nuclear stuff.’ That’s the thing you want to hit, right?” he said.
“I think he’s got that one wrong. Isn’t that what you’re supposed to hit? I mean, it’s the biggest risk we have, nuclear weapons.
“When they asked him that question, the answer should have been hit the nuclear first, and worry about the rest later. If they’re going to do it, they’re going to do it. But we’ll find out, whatever their plans are.”<<

Trumps still taking orders from morons.

I know that U.S. wants to target cheap Chinese wages in their own efforts to make themselves more competitive, so if cost of living is an issue to you, expect to have to tighten the purse strings further.

America is not our friend.
A war on China is a war on the whole world.
We're not going to win either the military or economic war.
The US will turn us all into Ukraine to stay in charge.

The US plans to make war on China involve a naval blockade to attack their Sea Lines Of Communication (SLOC)

The US talks about freedom of navigation but its war aims to defend its global hegemony by undermining all rivals include - blocking Chinas sea trade routes at choke points like Malacca Strait.

You have vassal union EU saying they want a full war with Russia with 6 to 8 years.
