'Advance’, the organisation behind the successful NO campaign to the Voice referendum, is moving on the Greens, pre-election.

‘Advance’ has set up greenstruth.com.au for those interested in how the Geens have morphed from tree huggers into what they are today.

‘Advance’s’ own website is advanceaustralia.org.au

ttbn,

I think of the irony of the Greens becoming a political force by stopping the Franklin dam, yet now they are supporting the destruction of an area several times that of Tasmania with commercial wind and solar farms.

As for the hydrogen economy/renewable energy superpower, fortunately the idiocy of these ideas is being increasingly appreciated, although not yet by the Greens or the Albo cult.

Irony is not a word I would use in relation to anything the Greens do; evil is an appropriate word.

Your point on Franklin is pertinent. The Greens have gone from preservation of the environment, wrecking the environment with solar panels and windmills, all requiring the destruction of native forests, animals and productive agricultural land

Bob Brown has voiced his dislike of windmills for the eyesores they are. I doubt that he would have any time for the Bandt Greens, either.

Australia is not immune from the sort of atrocity and physical violence that we have just seen against Donald Trump. There is every reason to believe that hateful rhetoric was among the reasons a lunatic shot at him.

Lyle Shelton reminds us of the bombing of his ACL office by deranged homosexual activist, who might well have been goaded by the likes of the Greens, branding the Australian Christian Lobby as a "hate group" in the Senate.

Our own PM'S electoral office is currently under seige by pro-terrorist lunatics. How long before one of them takes a shot or otherwise harms a politician who has been continually rubbish publicly and with parliamentary privilege in the Senate, by certain members of the Greens party.

Foxy,
Yes, so why don't you stop doing so ? Using nice or kind words but with sinister undertones is still hate & toxicity no matter how much you're trying to pretend otherwise.
The real tragedy is that people who share your mentality are not even delusional, they're simply too silly to realise how treacherous their thinking actually is ! Pointing out & drawing attention to wrong is right, not hateful !

Well said. People of the Left know all about hate, being the main perpetrators of hate themselves. Some try to disguise their hate by speaking softly, appearing to be polite, but all the while calling other people haters.

They don't fool anyone. Only themselves with their lack of self-awareness. These people - only a couple of them here thankfully - are narcissists. And there is no point in arguing with narcissists, or expecting them take a look at themselves.

The more you try to reason with them, the more you enable to spit their venom. Ignoring them is the way to go. They really hate being ignored.

Indyvidual,

Any criticism of hate and antipathy, toxicity, bile,
wild claims, and calls for toning things down and
for calm should not be silenced - because it is an
attempt to draw attention to wrongs and it is indeed
right and not hateful.

Unfortunately, for some on this forum - this is perceived
as a negative thing to do and seen worthy of further
attacks. If you don't agree with their behaviour and
comments you are a mortal enemy.

It's a left-over from the "good-old days" habit of the past
mentaility in this country. which for a small minority
still does exist today. Thankfully - it is a small minority
that will simply end up on the dung heap of history.

Looking at any argument as being about "them and us" is always an epic fail. It is a reason why I voted "no" in the referendum.

My support for nuclear power relates to what I believe can provide reliable power economically and protect the environment. I don't found that view on ideology. Ideology is where you install an incredibly expensive, destructive and dysfunctional generation system and tell yourself that it is cheap, reliable and good for the environment. Ideology is also where you have a union run in remarkably similar fashion to organised crime, but you think it all fine because they are good Labor people.

Politics should be about doing what is beneficial, not blinding yourself with ideology.

Good Morning Indyvidual,

You ask - "What opinions can we form about people
who rebute inconvenient evidence?"

That simply can be interpreted as - willful ignorance.
Which basically amounts to not wanting to be informed
or apprised of certain things.

If you are ignorant and ill-informed you can be manipulated
by any scoundrel who wishes to do so and it will be your
own fault.

There's also a difference between ignorance and stupidity.
Stupidity is behaviour that shows a lack of good judgement.

Hi Foxy,

I seen this thread, started by the Forums number one malcontent, nothing more than an opportunity for the little group of Old Farts to vent their spleens on political and social progressives. Two freely admit they have their snouts firmly lodged in the taxpayer trough sucking up aged welfare, something they never earned or deserve. The other nut job, well, he sees "Reds under the beds" at every turn. No thinking person would take anything they have to say seriously. Shortly they should be joining another pair of the Old Fart's, the posters Hasbeen and Shadow minister wherever they are now.

Hi Paul,

As I wrote to Armchair Critic on another discussion -
I can respect people with strong opinions and beliefs,
even if they differ from my own. However, as I said
to AC - I do have
problems tolerating people who reject reality when it
doesn't fit their world view or because they're too
comfortable or too lazy to engage in independent
thinking. I prefer not to engage with those people as
their views are too narrow and usually extreme.

I have decided not to read their views in future. There's
no point - all they want is a fight and to insult and name call.
Time to draw the line and just walk away.

Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi has got herself noticed again by stating that pro-Palestinian vandals who recently desecrated a war memorial had ‘only’ put a bit paint on a building.

Cartoonist, Johannes Leak, has been accused by the woman's lawyers of being “racist” with his depiction in The Australian of her comments.

What would they have accused him of if the senator was a white Anglo person? The words would have been the same.

Lawyers for The Australian hit back, writing: “Your client purports to advocate for free speech, yet herself (sic) is now using her status in order to stifle public discussion she doesn't like”.

Foxy the Jews are the indigenous people of the area.
By those rules the aborigines are illegally occupying Australia.
That is silly of course.

On the original subject the Greens previously would never have allowed
all that tree clearing of enormous areas for wind turbines and the
wide roads needed for access. Similar complaints would be expected
regarding the areas needed for solar farms.
The wide roads are not temporary as they are needed for maintenance
and replacement of turbine blades and high reach cranes.

It does not need "evidence" just keep up with it all.
It is all there daily to see and read.
Did you not see the aerial photos of the enormous ridge clearing in
Queensland that was in the papers and on the tV ?
That is the evidence.

Good Afternoon Bezza,

History lies at the core of every conflict. A true and
unbiased understanding of the past offers the possibility
of peace. The distortion or manipulation of history, in
contrast, will only sow disaster. People will continue
to argue and take sides about the Middle-East conflict.
I guess it all depends on how we interpret factual
evidence -. Many will interpret through the filter of
their beliefs, values, feelings, and prejudices.

The fact is that the international community does not
recognize Israeli sovereignty in the occupied
territories.

The International Court of Justice said Israel had no right
to sovereignty in the occupied territories, that Israel was
violating international law against acquiring territory by
force and was impeding Palestinians' right to self determination.

It said other nations were obliged not to "render aid or
assistance in maintaining Israel's presence in the
territories."

It said Israel must end settlement construction immediately
and that existing settlements must be removed. According to a
summary of the more than 80 page findings and summary
- read out by the court president.

Regarding the Greens?

I'm not a Green voter or supporter. I'm not sure of the strength
of their political power.

Hi Bezza,

As for the M25 protest in the UK?

I believe this blocked traffic over 4 days on a major
highway circling London.

This group Associated Press tells us uses disruptive
tactics - from tossing tomato soup on Van Gogh's
"Sunflowers" painting at the National Gallery, to
spraying orange paint on Stonehenge, to interrupting
the Wimbledon tournament and other sporting events.
This has earned them a huge amount of attention while
also creating many enemies and now has led to jail time.

These people have crossed the line from being concerned
campaigners to fanatics. Not a good look.

As for your comment of - "not a muslim in sight?"

There you go Bezza. What does that tell you?

Hi Paul,

Our federal member is a Liberal rising star - Keith
Wolahan. Our electorate has been a safe Liberal seat.
However the swing against Liberals started to show
at the last election - and even though Wolahan is a
great bloke - there seems to be a shift especially
in young people's thinking. Party allegiance seems
to be dwindling.

The next election should prove interesting. Labor also
has to lift its game. They now have the CMFEU crisis
and how they handle that will matter greatly.

Hi Bezza,

There are deep layers of history that will need to be
addressed if a genuine attempt is to be made at a
resolution. As Israeli historian Prof. Ilan Pappe
points out:

" After World War II, Zionism was allowed to become a
colonist project at a time when colonialism was being
rejected by the civilized world because the creation of
a Jewish state offered Europe, and West Germany in particular,
an easy way out of the worst excesses of anti-Semitism ever
seen. Israel was the first to declare its recognition of a
"new Germany."

"In return it received a lot of money but also, more
importantly a carte blanche to turn the whole of Palestine
into Israel."

"Zionism offered itself as the solution to anti-Semitism but
became the main reason for its continued presence. "The deal"
also failed to uproot the racism and xenophobia that still lies
at the heart of Europe and which produced Nazism on the
continent and a brutal colonisation outside it."

" That racism and xenophobia is now turned towards Muslims and
Islam, since it is intimately connected to the Israel-Palestinian
question. It could be reduced once a genuine answer to that
question is found."

Prof. Pappe writes:

"Nothing like that could happen if we continue to fall into the
trap of treating mythologies as truths. Palestine was not
empty and the Jewish people had homelands.
Palestine was colonised not
"redeemed" and its people were dispossessed in 1948 rather than
leaving voluntarily."

"Colonized people even under the UN Charter have the right to
struggle for their liberation, even with an army and the successful
ending to such a struggle lies in the creation of a democratic
state that includes all of its inhabitants."

Prof. Pappe sums up with:
"A discussion of the future liberated from all of its myths can
hopefully help to bring peace to both Israel and Palestine and
the end to the dark era of colonialism."

Getting Israel of come to the table under Netanyahu and his
government will prove difficult.
Hopefully applying pressure by international courts will help.

The Greens are no longer about the environment.

They are about making our lives worse, more expensive and less safe.

They have been allowed to grow by well-meaning, but naive, people who are still living in Bob Brown days.

The Greens want to run the country, even if it is through the Labor Party.

The Greens want to:

. Weaken our border security
. Decriminalise hard drugs
. Support activities/vandals who block roads and deface shops and
other buildings - even war memorials.

Yes, it is all hung up by history.
From my reading there were few Arabs in Mesopotamia and the people
living in what is now designated Israel were Canaanites.
It seems that a religious grouping of Canaanites became known as Jews.
That goes back to the time of Abraham etc.
A few thousand years later Mohammad, who Yuyutsu says was a Christian,
decided to invent Islam.
As a brigand in Arabia Mohammad raided Jews who had villages in Arabia
and they gave him a hard time. So he built his hatred of the Jews into
Islam and it can still be read in the Koran.
Then having conquered Arabia Mohammad decided to expand into
Mesopotamia and Egypt by means of Jihad. His General conquered Israel
as it was by then known in 676ad.
And that is when we came in !
After Mohammad's death his generals in the name of Islam went on to
conquer Nth Africa and India collecting Persia on the way.
A very successful policy which is now being implemented in Europe, by means of immigration. They have a word for it, Taquiya or similar.

So hatred of Jews is taught in the schools in Islamic countries
by reading the Koran and is almost impossible to dislodge.
Was it the St Stephan who said give me a child of seven and the church
will have him forever.

Even some moslems get disenchanted with Islam and there is even an
undercover non-Islamic Arab organisation in Australia. How big who knows.
The problem with their non acceptance of our laws and customs has
been going on for 1400 + years.
In Germany they are now demanding Sharia Law and a Caliphate.
Won't get it yet but the birthrate makes it only a matter of time.
I doubt I will see it but my children will see it in Europe.

Hi Bezza,

We all have our likes and dislikes. Our needs and
desires. We're all different. But there's nothing wrong
or threatening in the difference. Most of us are
seeking a better life for ourselves and future
generations and most of us find that there's really
no place for an "us" and "them" mentality in society
today or in the future.

We may not speak each other's language but sometimes you
can communicate the same message with just a smile.
When I was in hospital recently I shared a bathroom with
an Arabic elderly lady who'd suffered a stroke. She couldn't
speak.

I spoke to her all the time. I held her hand, I kept telling
her everything will be all right. I re-assured her constantly.
When I was leaving the hospital to go home the lady stood in
the doorway of her room and mouthed the words "Thank You,"
to me. I shall never forget her.

The Greens apparently cannot be defended via logic, evidence or common sense, nor by the childish rejoinder that someone else is also bad for whatever reason.

Anybody upset by Barnaby Joyce, who wants to say something about him, can, and should, do so.

Another useless and ineffective Liberal Party politician in James Stevens is the sitting MP for Sturt SA, first elected in 2019, Stuart suffered a more than seven per cent swing against him to hold the seat by just over 1000 votes over Labor in 2022. The Greens’ primary vote increased more than five per cent to reach 16.4 per cent. Stevens is proving a liability in parliament, not that he adds anything to the debate, and is likely to be tossed out at the next election, probably by Labor with Green preferences, but the seat could go Green, particularly as the Noalition wants to build a nuclear bomb, sorry power station, down that way. The locals don't like it!
