Where the hideous offshore windmills exist, the underwater cables needed to transfer the power they generate to land are failing. 85% of insurance claims made by operators are for failed cables. The average claim is 9 million pounds ($AU 17 million).

Insurers are reported to be losing money; if cables become uninsurable ….? And one operator was excited that it took "only" 32 days to repair a cable instead of the assumed 67 days!

Over the 20 years these 'farms' have been operating, cables have been the main cause of loss of power from offshore windmills, and there is still no solution.

I wonder if Chris Bowen knows about this.

A call for tenders by the UK to supply electricity from sea wind
turbines did not get a reply.
The company that is a big name in sea wind farms Vandenfall of Denmark
said the maintenance costs are too high.
However I am certain that Minister Bowen knows more about these
systems than anyone else. So it seems inevitable that our government
will subsidise these installations in NSW & Victoria.

Yes Bazz. The price of electricity wasn't high enough to make it viable. The thing about Bowen that angers me is that he will get away, scot-free with a huge pension when his stupidity gets bad enough to get the BigA that anyone in the private sector would have got long ago if they were as stupid and incompetent as he is.

In Australia, when it comes to useful energy from the sea, it gets blown out of the water by the Federal Court, thanks to a single aboriginal woman.

Woodside Energy had planned to extract gas from the waters 379 kilometres off the West Australian coast. But this woman, one Raelene Cooper, claimed that Woodside had "not consulted adequately with HER".

The Court put the kibosh on Woodside's plans, which might be able to go ahead only if "Cooper feels herself adequately consulted".

Woodside consulted with the different aboriginal groups it was required to consult. None of them had any concerns. Probably, few of them potter around almost 400 kilometres out into the Indian Ocean. But Raelene, bless her, broke away from the established organisations and formed something called Save our Songlines, claiming that the activities of Woodside would affect the whales that, Raelene believes, carry aboriginal "songlines".

Just imagine how worse this utter crap would be if the Voice got up.

There is no justifiable need for the amount of energy which results in excessive emission.
It's greed & stupidity combined.
Unless the world population gets some relief from the runaway population, life as we know it now will not continue simply by natural attrition & the 2050 target won't be needed anyway !
It won't necessarily be the smart who'll make it through so, it is up to our generations now to ensure the survival of common sense with some decency thrown in !
How can we bleat about all the problems for the future when it is our generation that causes them ? The symbiosis of stupidity & greed has to be deemed a pandemic ! We need to stop the anti-vaxxers for that now !

Major power suppliers are warning that it will 'lights out' this summer.

We need reliable gas and coal, they are saying

Japan is packing the you-know-whats, concerned that Australia won't be able to supply them with gas.

A major cement company is closing down after a 54% increase in their electricity bill this year. Over 5,000 workers are being kept idle during the day when electricity is the dearest. It's cheaper for them to do nothing than pay for the power.

Where's Bill Shorten! If Labor wants another term after this fiasco, Albanese, Bowen, and Chalmers have to go; and before our dealings with Israel and other countries are shot to pieces, Wong as well.

This is the worst government ever.
