Thank you Foxy.
He was indeed one of the greats who showed respect to his guests even though some of them might not have deserved it. A gentleman. Posted by SteeleRedux, Sunday, 20 August 2023 2:12:04 PM

Dear Steele,
Thank you. for your comment. I'll be watching the channel 9 special tonight. I always enjoyed his shows and found him very entertaining. There's no one around today that I feel could replace him. At least no one comes to mind. Posted by Foxy, Sunday, 20 August 2023 4:05:43 PM

Dear Steele,
I watched the "Parky," special on channel 9 last night. Shed a few tears. So many memories. Seeing a young, baby-faced, posh, Mick Jagger saying he and his mates would probably last for just another year. Then Elton John, telling Parky that he'll not be doing this in his 30s. That it would be pathetic. Plus Billy Connolly's sexual abuse by his father - which I didn't know. Brave man. And so much more. It was Parky's last appearances in Australia and Richard Wilkins did a great job. Well worth watching. Posted by Foxy, Monday, 21 August 2023 10:06:48 AM

British broadcaster and talkshow host, has died,
aged 88. I don't know of anybody that hasn't
watched at least some of his shows and listened
to his interviews. The man entertained so many
of us. His shows ran from 1971 - 2007 and he
interviewed over 2,000 celebrities. He visited
Australia many times and loved this country and
its people.
He'll be remembered for bringing out the best in
most of the people he interviewed (except possibly
for Meg Ryan). He was always charming, and made us
laugh.
I loved his interviews with comedian Billy Connolly.
Plus his memorable ones with Mohammad Ali.
In 2013 Parkinson revealed he had radiotherapy for
prostate cancer. Two years later he got the all clear
from his doctors.
He leaves behind his wife Mary, and their three children,
Andrew, Nicholas, and Michael, Jr. Our deepest sympathies
go out to them all.
Please share your tributes and memories.
The man to many of us was irreplaceable.
Rest in Peace Parky.
