The politicians are all rabbiting on and on about how cheap wind and
solar is. True the source of energy is cheap but the cost of using it
on the scale we need is beyond our means.

There is a really good solution, the modular reactors. Here is is
information on Rolls Royce's system of factory built power stations.

There is a video showing the assembly.
Just put them where grid and switch yards are already installed.
That on its own would save $2Trillion.
There is only one catch that I can see;
by the time we get our politicians
to act there will be a very big queue at Rolls Royce.

Don't worry Bazz. China will copy them & churn them out at half price. Plenty for us, if we beg hard enough.

We would not have a "power problem" in the first place if it hadn't been for the lies about carbon dioxide and climate change.

The political class, Liberals and Labor (can't blame the 8% Greens who have no power of their own and are just parasites) caused the price of power to rise with their idiotic climate hysteria and promises of zero emissions of the essential-for-life carbon dioxide.

Now, these same idiots, having caused massive increases in electricity prices, are going to spend consumers own taxes (plus borrowed money) to 'ease the pain' that they have caused. It doesn't get madder than that. Well, apart from ripping the environment and productive land to pieces to build frightfully ugly wind and solar farms.

The is no 'solution' to this kind of madness because people mad enough to do what our politicians have done are too far gone to accept that anything needs solving.

When we finally become part of the Third World, and the maniacs who put us there are dead, maybe, just maybe, future generations might 'discover' what we have thrown away and be able to crawl back.

Indeed ttbn & Hasbeen; I recently received a new contract from Origin.
To my horror it showed a 65% increase in power rates !
I am currently looking elsewhere.

If the Libs want to get reelected in NSW they should announce that
they will takeover Liddel on 28th April !

There's no moral, technical or other justification to keep on giving in to this greed !
It's time these companies & their bosses are given a shake-up !

Bazz

If the Libs want to get re-elected. I don't think they do want to get re-elected. They are certainly not acting as if they do. The joint will be well and truly wrecked before they stir their stumps, led by what's-his-name-again?

The Liberal Party has again shown its uselessness by agreeing to support the Voice 'machinery Bill', despise UNHAPPINESS in the party room. Time for real conservative politicians to give the Liberals the flick and head for the Nationals, One Nation, Liberal Democrats, or give independence a go. The Dutton Liberal party is dead in the water.

Yes Bazz, I got my electricity bill in the mail today. Being rural with domestic water pressure pumps, irrigation pumps, grey water pump out pumps etc., I do expect my bills to be higher than suburban homes. One kid has left home, & I have made serious usage efforts to reduce our power consumption.

My current usage is 34.2% down on the same quarter last year, but my bill of $757.34 is up $56 on last year. The rate has increased 51%.

I can fully understand why many folk would like to do something quite nasty to the ratbags that have shoved windmills & solar on us.

Of course I am richer than last year too, according to government. I also got my Department of Resources land valuation notice in the same mail. My valuation has increased by $120,000 in just the last 12 months. I wonder why I don't feel rich. I know I won't be feeling rich when the local council rip another thousand dollars off me for living in my own house. The $3600 I pay now for 3 hours of mobile library 48 times a year, & a grader up the road every 2 or 3 years really doesn't seem good value.

Hassy,

You've got to stop fighting the environment. You did move onto a beautiful oasis about 30 years ago, and have turned it into you own personal Saharan sand hill. Most unfortunate, why not bring in some nature loving green environmentalists, and local first nations folk to show you how to live in harmony and sustainably on you plot! Who knows with green and indigenous help your parched earth desert may once more return to its lush fertile former self.

p/s, Is there a local Greens branch, where you can join, and beg for help with your self inflicted environmental problems?

Paul you have excelled yourself with the above bulldust. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Bring in some aboriginals & the first thing they would do is put a fire through the place every couple of years. Next they would kill any wildlife they found to stop from starving. There is stuff all edible in the district, except the turtles in our dams & the roos, apart from white man stock.

The place was a disaster due to the Kiwi tenant who turf farmed the place & mined the nutrients rather than fertalise. I have so much thick high grass now we can crash a RC plane into it without damaging it. My flying guests love it. I have encouraged the blady grass & cut a couple of acres each year to mulch my 50 Hibiscus, dozens of Lemon Myrtles, Silky oaks, other grevilleas, callistemons & bauhinia. The gums don't need mulching.

I don't grow food because it is more expensive to grow your own, than get it from the super market, & you need too many nasty sprays to beat the fruit fly. Sprays like the old Lebaycid eliminate a lot of birds to get anything.

You should see what a flock of Lorikeets can do to half ripe apples, & blue faced honey eaters can do to the dragon fruit & the Brazilian grapes.

You obviously have absolutely no idea of growing anything in SE Qld, or you wouldn't talk such cr4p.

Hey ttbn,
"If the Libs want to get re-elected. I don't think they do want to get re-elected."

- I think they really need to re-invigorate themselves somehow, starting with showing Dutton the door, that bloke seems like the most boring and loathsome person in the country.

- I think I'd even prefer to have BBQ lunch with Albo than Dutton, and that's saying something.
