The Joke is Censorship at the Job Network Service Workstations.

Blocking information. For instance try to link to Wiki's information about Canberra. Alternatively, try the Google news, it’s also blocked with content filters meant to screen out pornography.

Links that assist serious job seekers obtain information for a professional job are blocked.

Makes you wonder which century are we in and whether you are in the right country. Doesn’t it?

Seems a discrimination here is out of sync with the policies on productivity. The burden is put on those many who require open resource access the most.

Worse. If you’re using your own computer as a tool for work and you go to government departments for information, resources, advice and you need to discuss or profile something on the internet you can’t because these public service departments computers are also blocked.

All is a mismatch. Who knows why? Seems we have a real wide trust issue here?

I see job seeking as an action that requires the same open, two-way communication you would expect to perform as any other business marketing process.

It seems there is a lot of projective telling going on that is adding to the already depersonalised culture of services without much attention paid to potential outcomes.

Consider the gadgets we are being encouraged to buy, the huge cost it is to provide the public services with their tools.

The greatest barrier I see, is the narrow door policies that are working against citizens non-randomly rather then for them.

Some of us are having enormous issues concerning access to the technological tools when applying for professional work.

I am sure on Newstart allowance, access to the McDonalds WireFi services is not meant to be the only resource offered. Frustrated? Try seeking support from the ANU, Career Guidance, Job networks, Libraries, Business groups, Centerlink or DEWPT on this. Chances are they’ll send you too over to McDonalds. No Joke.

It is called buck passing. Business as usual, regardless!

How can we drive a productive knowledge based nation like this?
