Allowing betting on future events will create greater competition in the forecasting market.

My reponse, that is because most are not experts. As usual in most professions, there are just a few brilliant people that know what is going on, are prepared to say it, and will offer real policy ideas to deal with a given situation. The only trouble is I am yet to come across them in person. Hence, I listen to the ABC, watch a lot of tv, and google around the world as much as possible.
