Healthy living in hard times : Comments

It seems that mortality tends to rise in booms and fall in busts. Recessions make you live longer.

It actually makes no sense that there is a lower death rate for things such as liver and heart disease in leaner economic times because these diseases develop over many years often during times of plenty. Maybe the quality of data collection is worse due to cutbacks!
