Gatherings of young people including World Youth Day, in which the participants enjoy one another's company, are precious.

I hope and believe that the spiritual benefits and friendships formed will be a positive force in the lives of all concerned with this massive undertaking for many years to come.

Well done Cardinal Pell, Bishop Fisher, Michael Casey and thousands of parish clergy and volunteers. And also thanks to the Pope for coming, and for his message of "DON'T
LOSE HOPE! to the young people of Australia and the world. I felt it struck just the right note when we are being bombarded with fears of environmental disasters, and other negative messages.

Dare I say it clergy and a bunch of kids in the same place...Talk of sleep overs...where do we start.

WYD is a religous gathering for RC nothing more and will be forgotten faster then it took to setup (with our money, I wonder if out Government with be as helpful to aour Muslim friends if they wanted to do something like WYD).
Religoins feed off human suffering they no real interest in seeing it ended.Inventing problems where there are not any is how the system works these day's. Kids are not drinking any more then was drunks by Aussies 50 years ago if fact it's less.

The Catholic church is doing its bit for global warming by encouraging thousands of people from all over the world to fly to Sydney. While they are here they can listen to cardinal Pell tell them to have more children. Our poor little planet already suffers under the effects of 6.7 billion humans already here and this number is increasing at the rate of one billion every four days, how many more does the cardinal want?
