By Terry Flew, published 15/5/2008

Thanks to Hillary Clinton's divisive campaign the Democrats will continue to splinter along class and racial lines, with real opportunities for John McCain.

I have been closely following the Democratic Presidential primaries in the U.S. and Mr. Frew "hits the nail on the head" in his analysis of the messy problems involved. In what should be an easy victory for the Democrats in the fall election will become a tough job.

Joe in the US,

In Oz if a politician lied about coming under potential mortal fire in a War Zone, it would be the end of their Career. She should not be VP, either.

The clintons are unremittingly AMBITIOUS, having a long dubious history of doing what they have to in service of their sociopathic ambition. They dont care about anyone or anything except themselves and people only have utility to the extent that they serve this ambition.

Both those two, during their pre-political careers and their white house stint were involved in all manner of shennanigans. They are experts at the "what do you mean by the word 'mean'" thing. Shifty buggers.
Forgiveness is what their presidential political process rests on. Goes to the public glancing past the 'ducking enemy fire.' They need to turn a blind eye, else they'll never get involved, given that their leadership is so utterly tainted, by definition, as a function of their political system/climate. Since Kennedy its been a steady climate of political romanticism as a necessary pre-requisite of participation.

It aint over till the fat lady sings, which happens at the end of the opera, with a knife in her back. This campaign isn't necessarily clinton's last act.

It looks unlikely she'll be nominated. Having to wait 8yrs for another stab is too long, all but putting her and hubby out to pasture. An Obama presidency likely means an 8 yr wait. A republican presidency gives her a clear chance to have another go in 4 yrs. The party is already pragmenting. Quite a few clinton supporters are getting downright nasty about those who are backing obama.

They're claiming they will BOYCOTT the election. Wouldnt be surprised if they vote republican.

Clintons all consuming political ambition is well served by fragmentation of the party and a republican president.

That the dems have spent all their time, money, resources sniping each other, sums it up. They're only a short time away from the election and they're still spinning wheels in the garage. Fools. Or maybe they've got a silver bullet that they can fire and the closer to the election they do it, the better. Who knows.

It would be fun to have Bill as the nations first... First Lady though. Look up yer interns.
