A tale of six women with a readiness to stand up and be counted and a determination to defend human rights.

There seems to be a certain interest in this thread about peace, and as one who has been pushing a cause called - Sharing the Blame in the Middle East - possibly intruding into an OLO exercise looking for caustic comments commenting on a Four Corners recent topic on the same subject virtually saying that us Westerners should be copping more of the blame concerning the Middle East than the Islamics.

The term Sharing the Blame certainly is nothing new and it is interesting that my now deceased wife used to mention it deliberately in front of our kids after an argument, myself giving her a quick kiss in response.

The particular OLO exercise might have broken a record at 148 threads so far, my last one probably buggering things up by declaring the following:

As the US refuses to share the blame for Middle East problems since WW2, there is possibly a sound argument that America should inherit the blame owing to her strong ability to intrude with missile diplomacy.

These two women provide positive symbolism that will aid the road to peace but after years of hatred, it will be difficult to build and sustain the trust and desire for a long term peace.

Similarly the Israelis who assist the Palestinians with their olive harvest on the West Bank to reduce the risk of being shot at by militant Israeli settlers.

The Middle East conflict will not be resolved anytime soon.

Even the infamous "road map" looked promising until it was thwarted by the actions of the Israeli government and the failure to unify all Palestinian groups to the common cause of peace.

Heartfelt thanks, Pelican, for your info about the more sensible and kinder Israelis. So much helping in our somewhat desperate endeavour to encourage warring peoples to share their blames, possibly as the young Jesus meant when he suggested to try and show love to ones enemies in the Sermon on the Mount.

Regards, BB, WA.

More a reasonably successful mature age political philosopher than a poet - but now nearly 87 dsperately still trying to make some contribution towards global peace, especially in the Middle East.

With my apologies read below Sharing the Blame in Rhyme:

Sharing the Blame no Shame
In a World now not Needing Fame
Sharing the Blame is the Name of the Game
In a World that needs it so Much

Cheers BB - WA

You make an interesting point bushbred.

I am not sure that either camp is ready to 'share the blame' as yet but we can hope that one day they might share in the solutions.
