Collective bargaining by small businesses - one year on : Comments

The ALP needs to look at helping small businesses to counteract the inequality of their bargaining power.

"If the ALP is seriously committed to counteracting inequality of bargaining power for small businesses it must revisit the concept of public benefit in the TPA notification process. It should, at least, include consideration of the private welfare of the members of the bargaining unit as a relevant factor."

Two parties will make a deal if it is mutually advantageous. If it's not, then no deal will be done. If a small business can't survive on the terms offered, then it should seek alternative supplies/suppliers, change it's business, or close down. Why is this an issue for government?
