The task before Kevin Rudd is to inspire the nation with a vision of the society Australia can be.

Rudd needs to deliver his party's election promises as soon as possible to establish his credibility. His first term will give the Prime Minister the opportunity to set visionary Australian targets and firm directions to sustainable goals in all areas of public policy.

For example, to deliver on stated greenhouse reductions for Australia, Rudd needs to shake our motor vehicle industry out of its complacency and use the same kind of bold compulsory emission targets for new cars in the EU and in some states in the US.

Let's hope Federal Labor's leadership team can end the past hype and spin style of political media releases that lack the substance about how do we get there.

Hey Phuong Duong,

Why are petrol prices so high again this Christmas? How come Rudd and his Treasurer haven't stopped them price gouging again ...like they promised?

Remember the expectation they gave to the voters with the way they hammered at Howard over these? Did you see the idiotic responses from Rudd's ACCC Minister the other day?

Some vision hey? I'd say you were are blinded by the 'light'.

Ha...talking about chucking "360's"... Why are petrol prices so high again this holiday season?

Rudd gave me and everyone I've spoken to the expectation he'd stop that from happening and that he'd keep petrol prices down, with his "prices Commissioner".

Looks like 'we will have lots of talk, hype and media opportunities, but no change in direction' in that area as well.

A warning of things to come.

Demos'"It's your're fault rj you wanted to be led by the hand..."

I wish I was that powerful Demos. As individuals we have no power. Our political parties lie to us and we accept it as a matter of course. In reality we have lost control of our own destinies. We sold out Aust a long time ago.The excuse now for impotence of Govt is called Globalisation. We sell off rich gas resources of the north west shelf for a pitence to China and charge locals a fortune.

Australia in reality is owned by multi-nationals/big business and Govts of all persuasions take heed to who their real masters are.
