My initial response was to write a tirade to "Objective Thinker", what an oxymoron that title is in this case, but as I read the calm and measured words of most of the other posts I again realised that without forums like these I would never have that opportunity for a daily reinforcement of my view that many liberal voters, not all I hasten to add, are so blinkered in their view of the world that thay should not be allowed the vote.

Dear Frank....

I saw my name crop up in your post and struck by what I thought was my newfound popularity - I then saw the 'bad' news bit.. awwwww..

I don't mind if you use caps in an appropriate way. Feel free..I do it :)

Why not use caps sometimes? It isn't necessarily 'shouting' it can simply be for emphasis and communication of passion.

Just like the other aspects of language, they have their place.

Speaking of language, I heard a talk today where Fouccault and Derrida were mentioned. One or both of them say "Words are about power".

In many ways they are right. Lee Rhiannon would have us believe she is squeeky clean, noble and politically virtuous, why ? FOR POWER....
see.. caps again :) because it is appropriate to the subject.

She wishes to use 'words' to destroy an incumbent government, why ? aah.. POWER again.. They have it... she wants it.. so.. she uses power words to destroy them.

Those philosophers may not have been Christian, but they seem to have been honest about peoples true motivation in their use of words.

"Reforms" when used by a Green in general or Rhiannon in particular, are simply about power and political advantage.

Reform.. just a word... but very very pregnant

Well all the money spent on the election didn't do the Liberal party a bit of good. You can advertise bad apples all you want and they still won't sell.I don't believe that Labor can make my life style any better as the damage is done with the reforms Liberal introduced but i am glad to see the end of a smirking Costello and doddery Howard.Let's just hope Labor don't exacerbate the situation.
