A decade or so ago I read a science fiction short story set in a future where parking offences were subject to capital punishment in order to help cull an unsustainable population. The idea of organ harvesting was evidently still too futuristic.

Please see we get updates on the situations in China and Viet Nam. It would be most interesting to have proven one way or another the deterrent capability of the death penality.
